More Power to the Ball
This makes no sense. You think the economy improves less with a single person spending millions of dollars instead of multiple people spending $1 million? To the contrary. Those that win smaller amounts are more careful with their money because they know they don't have a lot to work with and they have to make it last. It's the people who win the large jackpots who do a lot of crazy spending. Getting people to buy things from businesses is what helps the economy. Larger winners buy more things.

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
Probably depend on the type of players.
Serious players play to win every time they play and since the odds don't change when the jackpots get bigger, there's no reason to buy any more tickets then they normally do.
Casual players buy tickets when ever they think about the lottery so they will probably buy more because they will be thinking about it more.

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
regular math yes it does guarantee winning the jackpots
The thread was only asking if math and logic could improve the odds but are you suggesting it could guarantee a win?
Such a claim would have to be backed up with an actual win if you're suggesting it could be done playing less than every possible combination.

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
Playing a 5/56 game to win $250,000 doesn't make much sense in the states with a 5/39 pick-5 with equal jackpots. The new MM odds are 4 times higher, but the payoff is 4 times higher too. We can't expect them to pay $1 million with less than 4 million to 1 odds for $1.
I believe the changes were made for the player base that plays their favorite numbers on one or two tickets in every drawing regardless of the size of the jackpot. Currently there are 8 bonus that weren't drawn in the last 100

Texas All or Nothing shut down
The issue wasn't that too many people were winning. There were only 29 jackpot winners so far. GTech noticed that many many players were playing all even or all odd, (me included), and if by chance the numbers draw were all even or all odd, the payout would have been tremendous. The state could not risk that. If you read the minutes of the last commissoner's meeting, you'll see that the commissioners were pretty unhappy about the game being stopped, because the game was very successful. A lot of

Can math and logic improve chances of winning a jackpot?
It's really simple enough to understand this topic and the idea is to discuss using logic and math to improve anyone's chance of winning of a jackpot. We know for a fact the logic of cutting in line was used to win a jackpot so their should be no argument against that logic winning a jackpot.
Jimmy can't comprehend the difference between improving and guaranteeing chances and usually ignores it with his boring lectures. We're talking about winning multi-million jackpots where any logic and an

Mega Millions lottery game's redesign aims at bigger jackpots, better overall odds
Well lots and lots of interesting point but surprisingly people play big jackpots just for the day dream of it not actually believing to win. To make my point even thoes that won when the odds were lower don't even remember to check thier winning ticket but they always remember to line up arround the block and play just like everyone else. Before you are more likely to be struck by lightining and now you are more likely to p..p a live monkey in the toilet. But again many women give birth without

Do you generally play both major jackpots regardless of the amount?
Always play both. Larger jackpot amount doesn't increase your chances of winning, it's still slim to none regardless. And any experts who claim some junk about better ROI or Expected Value when PB and MM jackpots are large really don't know what they are talking about.
