Kansas Mega Millions winner claims jackpot anonymously
If you want to retire with millions and have a quiet life.. Earn it. If you win out of pure luk it should be known publicly. If you can't handle the attention maybe don't play. Stick to your local smaller jackpot games. Truth.

Anyone else find the jump in MM j/p surprising?
I would be thrilled with winning a 12M$ j/p with a 8.6M$CV. And yes, I do realize that by the time I was finished paying taxes and tithes and professional fees that I would have a scant bit over 4.3M$, which would fully fund my retirement. I could then work happily for another 20 or so years - live on what I earn, rather than have to save, ration, and budget. And then in 20 years, retire comfortably on MORE than I was earning previously. Now THAT is worth it for me with a dollar and that drea

N.J. couple claims $70M Powerball jackpot
This is so nice. They will be able to retire young and be able to devote time, resources and energy to whatever they love to do. I have not played powerball since they hiked the price to $2 but judging by the rate the JP is being hit I think I will return.

Would you create JOBS if you won the lottery?
I voted yes, as I'll invest in homes/townhomes rentals and college student housing. My son, who is still in college could take over the business while I semi retire and run our foundation. My daughter is self employed, so she is set. For the foundation? I've decided forget people, I'll help the animals through grants to non PETA-HSUS groups like Animals Angels and independent rescues. People always want more and more, but animals are happy with just a little bit of love and attention. Well, most

Would you quit your JOB if you won the lottery!
I discarded my vote because it depends on the amount of the prize after taxes. In order for me to quit my job it would have to be at least 2 million after taxes. I like that ING commercial where two guys are talking about what is your number . In other words what is your number that you need to retire. One of the guys holds a big number with a little over 1 million dollars and the other guy says I dont know I just throw money blindly at it and hope it sticks! while holding a gazillion dollar num

Is 50 Million Dollars Not Enough??
Is $50M enough? Of course it is! Same for the $12 million MM minimum. Heck, I'd be happy with the $3M NY Lotto minimum, the $1M jackpot from Sweet Million, or the top prize from NY's Take 5 (usually between $60K and $90K, though I'd be disappointed if I had to share it). Granted, the larger amounts make it easier to retire and live off your winnings, but I'd be happy to just pay off my debts and have a nice chunk of change left over to put in the bank.

'Ordinary' Louisiana couple claims $1M Powerball prize
I was just commenting on the Louisiana couple who won the million with the standard $2 ticket, in relation to the older second tier prize of $200K. Obviously for a $1 more you could double that with Powerplay and retire instantly. Or better yet just take all the marbles and call in rich 2-nite!

Do the lottery people have a general idea of where the juicy scratch offs are?
I read that same story, the security guard accidentally got a peak at one of the lists used to confirm winning tickets which had the roll numbers of the winning ticket and then he checked another list that had the name of the retailer that received that roll. Normally he wouldn't have access to both lists. He told two of his friends about it and they traveled to the retailer and bought the whole roll of tickets. He was planning to retire with his share of the winnings and didn't think a 3-way sp
