Washington Lottery to give free gas for Quick Picks
Washington Lottery officials plan to give drivers some relief during a week in which AAA Washington said gas prices set a state record. On Friday, drivers who purchase $10 in quick pick Mega Millions tickets at three Safeway fuel centers in Washington are eligible for 10 free gallons of regular unleaded or diesel gasoline. We've worked ahead of time with police to provide a traffic plan, and there are going to be people out there managing traffic, lottery spokeswoman Jacque Coe said. La

Michigan Lottery to debut $50 'Super Raffle' tickets
The most expensive ticket in the Michigan Lottery's 35-year history goes on sale May 7, offering the best odds ever of winning a $2 million top prize. Tickets for the Super Raffle game will cost $50 each, and only 250,000 will be sold. In the June 18 drawing, two players each will win $2 million, 25 players will collect $100,000 each and 4,500 will get $500 apiece. But will folks balk at the unprecedented $50 ticket price? We don't think that's going to be a problem, Lottery Commiss

Why Quick Picks win...Hint: It's *NOT* what you think, folks!
Many here have observed the oft repeated assumption that QPs win because the majority of PURCHASES are QPS, and as such most of the eventual winners are QP users. I have a different take. Nobody wants to admit ( I think that drives the prejudice against QPs) that having control over your selection matters in reducing the odds of winning not a whit. Nobody wants to think that a person who follows draw history cannot even come close to the mindless terminal, because of the illusion of controlling

The Las Vegas Poll
I lived in Vegas from 1977-1993, when I got there it was about 80,000 population, when I left it was much larger than that. Prior to that Nevada had never been one million. I worked in the El Cortez, Fremont, Union Plaza, California, Golden Nugget, and Palace Station. (Never made it to the Strip, some kind of record!) It used to be it was nothing to go out, have a little fun, and line up three Bar Bar Bar's on a slot and win $100. That was then, now it's Mega payoffs for one big winner a

Focusing On Winning The Lottery Is A Fruitless Event
Focusing on winning the lottery is kind of like focusing on not having . Using that logic, focusing on having a good meal at a restaurant is kind of like focusing on not getting food poisoning . I say this because of some discussions I've had with those who have held this desire. They have shared what they would do with the winnings if they won. It's obvious that whoever wrote the article wasn't discussing it on Lottery Post because most of those discussions were about what we w

$340 MILLION: Biggest Mega Millions lottery jackpot ever
The $340 million jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions lottery drawing will be the largest since The Big Game became Mega Millions in May of 2002. If The Big Game's jackpots are included, the Tuesday Mega Millions jackpot is the second-largest ever to The Big Game's record of $363 Million, set in May of 2000. The only other lottery jackpots that are comparable to Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot are Powerball's $340 million jackpot on October 19, 2005 and the $365 million jackpot on February
