Florida Lottery to resume drawings Tuesday
The Florida Lottery announced Monday that daily drawings will resume today and make-up drawings for all Lottery Draw games suspended due to Hurricane Irma will also be conducted in sequence Tuesday, September 12, with full security and auditing measures in place.

An executive order issued Sunday by Gov. Rick Scott has temporarily suspended Florida Lottery drawings as Hurricane Irma bears down on the state.

18-year-old wins $26,000 a year for life in Florida lottery
One lucky Florida teen will receive $26,000 year after winning the top prize in the state's latest $500 a Week for Life scratch-off lottery.
Daniela Leon Ruz, 18, will receive the money in annual payments of $26,000 after choosing not to collect a lump sum of $410,000, according to a press release by the Florida Lottery.
The teen or her estate if something were to happen to her will collect the money for a minimum of 20 years, or for the duration of her life if it's longer than that.

Florida man sues friend in dispute over $1M lottery ticket
A Lakeland, Florida, man is suing a friend who he says cheated him out of money from a $1 million lottery ticket.
Court records show John Rhoades filed a lawsuit against Tyler Scott, and Scott's girlfriend Brittany Causey. Wells Fargo Bank is also listed as a defendant.

4th clerk arrested in Florida Lottery sting
Florida officials have arrested a fourth person locally in its ongoing crackdown on store owners and employees who cheat customers out of lottery winnings.
Kamlawatie Persaud, 60, a clerk at Dave's Mini Mart at 10859 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala, was arrested Wednesday.

Haines City police are looking for the pair who used the promise of a Florida Lotto payoff to scam a man out of $19,000.
According to investigators, they met the victim at a Family Dollar store. Police released surveillance video of the three men together.

Florida lottery tickets could soon carry a big warning label if a Republican legislator gets her way.
A House panel on Tuesday voted for a bill that would require all lottery tickets to say Warning: Gambling can be addictive.

Florida Governor appeals loss in lottery case
Florida Gov. Rick Scott is moving ahead in his legal battle with House Speaker Richard Corcoran over the state-run Florida Lottery.
