Lottery winner guilty of attempted shoplifting
A Tewksbury, Massachusetts, woman was found guilty Wednesday of attempting to steal $80 worth of lipstick from a Kohl's department store two months after winning $1 million on a scratch ticket.
Judge Robert Stephen ordered Yokatia Rodriguez, 40, to pay a $2,000 fine and serve 30 days in Rockingham County Jail if she is not on good behavior for the next year. Half of the fine and all of the jail sentence will be dismissed if she doesn't get arrested again, he explained.

Two-time Michigan Lottery winner accused of embezzling $300,000
A 30-year-old woman who won two major Michigan Lottery prizes is accused of embezzling more than $300,000 from a local substance abuse and mental health treatment center during her time as an accountant there.
Both jackpots one $20,000 and the other $60,000 Nichol Evans won in late 2016 by playing online gambling games, according to Michigan Lottery articles.

Virginia woman conned out of nearly $30,000
The Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident in which a woman in the Virginia county was bilked out of nearly $30,000 after being promised lottery riches, court records show.
According to an affidavit for a search warrant filed in Spotsylvania Circuit Court, the 68-year-old victim was at the Spotsylvania Towne Centre late last month when she was approached by two Hispanic women who asked her for a ride.

4th clerk arrested in Florida Lottery sting
Florida officials have arrested a fourth person locally in its ongoing crackdown on store owners and employees who cheat customers out of lottery winnings.
Kamlawatie Persaud, 60, a clerk at Dave's Mini Mart at 10859 SE Maricamp Road, Ocala, was arrested Wednesday.

A Marion County jury has found two of the three persons accused in a $2 million scam involving a bogus winning Hoosier Lottery ticket guilty on multiple counts, while a third defendant was found not guilty.

Trial set to start for 3 people charged in $2M Hoosier Lottery scam case
A jury trial is scheduled to start Monday in the case of three people accused of trying to bilk the Hoosier Lottery out of $2 million.
Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry will handle the case.

Woman sentenced for stealing more than $400,000 from Missouri lottery winner
A former Kansas City woman who stole more than $400,000 from a Missouri Lottery winner was sentenced Wednesday to five years in federal prison.
