A Florida judge must decide if the administration of Gov. Rick Scott broke the law when the state lottery approved a contract worth over $700 million.

Florida Lottery revamps daily game lineup

The Florida Lottery is overhauling some of its long-running daily games, adding two new games and renaming two others.
Lottery officials announced last week that it is launching two new daily games called Pick 2 and Pick 5 Monday, Aug. 1.
Pick 2 players can select two numbers, from 0 through 9, to win a top prize of up to $50 for a Straight play, up to $25 for a Box play, or up to $37.50 for a Straight/Box play.

South Florida musician gets prison term for lottery fraud
A South Florida musician who helped funnel money from elderly victims of a $500,000 lottery hoax was sentenced Tuesday to three years and five months in federal prison.
Delroy Drummond, aka Top Banga, 26, of Hollywood and Miami Gardens, admitted he worked with allies who contacted seniors all over the U.S. and duped them into believing they had won a lottery prize.

Florida woman admits role in lottery fraud
A Broward County, Florida, woman pleaded guilty Monday to her role in a Jamaica-based telemarketing lottery fraud that targeted seniors in the U.S.

Florida Lottery's new Wheel of Fortune scratch-off game sets sales records
The Florida announced last week that Scratch-Off ticket sales for the newest $5 Scratch-Off game, Wheel of Fortune, exceeded $6.1 million in its first week, setting a record for the highest first week of sales by any game at that price point.
The game also set a record for having the highest single week sales ever for a $5 game, with $7.6 million in sales in its second week, eclipsing the previous record set by $500,000 Gold Rush in 2015 by 10 percent.

Psychic's numbers win lottery jackpot for Florida man
A 60-year-old St. Petersburg man is more than $500,000 richer courtesy of five lucky numbers suggested by a psychic more than 20 years ago.
According to the Florida Lottery, Richard Klosterman won the $700,000 Lucky Money jackpot drawing on April 12. Klosterman opted for a one-time, lump-sum payment that put his winnings at $545,563.20.

Cops: Lottery ticket dispute led to Florida ax murder
A Florida man is being held without bond, accused of murdering his friend with an ax during a fight over lottery tickets.
I was defending myself, suspect Joseph Robinson said after his initial court appearance.
The victim was identified as John Henry Stubbs, 69. The father of 11 was killed in what investigators said was a gruesome act involving an ax.

Florida woman who lost $1 million lottery trial files for bankruptcy
The former Seminole County school teacher who last month lost a big chunk of a $1 million Florida Lottery jackpot to her former boyfriend, who had sued her for failing to share, has filed for bankruptcy.
Lynn Anne Poirier, 62, of Geneva did not list Howard Browning, her former live-in sweetheart, as a creditor in the bankruptcy case, which she filed Saturday in Orlando.
She listed that case as pending.
