Florida lottery ticket worth $1.3 million about to expire
Someone who bought a Mega Money lottery ticket over the summer in south Miami-Dade is a millionaire and may not even know it.
To make matters worse, unless they come forward in the next week or so they will be out of luck.
Florida lottery officials said a Mega Money ticket sold June 18th at Davis Market, at 21630 Southwest 120th Avenue, is worth $1.3 million. However, it remains unclaimed. The 180 day limit to claim the jackprize expires on December 15th.

Deadline passes: $16 million Powerball jackpot goes unclaimed
The 180-day window passed late Thursday with no one coming forward to claim a $16.66 Powerball jackpot from a ticket bought in Hillsborough County, Florida.
The ticket was sold in May at Carrollwood Market, a convenience store at 4550 W. Village Drive.
The ticket was worth one third of a $50 million Powerball jackpot drawn May 25. The two other winning tickets were sold in Delaware and Louisiana. The winning numbers were 2, 6, 19, 21, and 27, with Powerball number 25.

$16 million Florida Powerball lottery ticket expires Thursday
Hitting a $16 million Powerball jackpot is a dream for most people.
But losing a fortune by letting those lottery winnings expire is a nightmare and that's what will happen Thursday if someone doesn't claim the ticket bought in May at a suburban Tampa, Fla., convenience store.

Florida man wins multimillion lottery jackpot for 2nd time

A U.S. man who won a multimillion-dollar jackpot playing the Florida Lotto has done it again.
The Florida Lottery says 67-year-old James Bozeman Jr., of Orlando, has claimed a $3 million jackpot from the drawing held on Aug. 31, 2013.
Bozeman chose to receive his winnings in annual payments of $100,000.00 for the next 30 years.
Last year, Bozeman claimed a $10 million jackpot.

Home returned to estate of slain Florida Lotto winner
A judge has ordered that an expensive home and other assets be returned to the estate of slain Lakeland, Florida, lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare and stripped from the woman convicted of killing him.
In a six-page order, Circuit Judge J. Dale Durrance wrote that there was no evidence Dorice DeeDee Moore ever paid Shakespeare for his home on Red Hawk Bend Drive in Lakeland.
Shakespeare paid about $1 million for the Lakeland house when he bought it in 2007.

$59M Florida Lotto jackpot won by ticket sold in Orlando
Lottery officials said a winning Florida Lotto ticket worth $59 million was sold at a 7-Eleven in Orlando.
One lucky person won the jackpot in Saturday night's Florida Lotto drawing, where the winning numbers were 11, 24, 36, 45, 46 and 47.
Officials said the ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store at the intersection of S. Apopka Vineland Road and Winter Garden Vineland Road.
The winning ticket is worth $59 million, or a lesser amount for a one-time cash payout. The winner has not yet come

Fla. senator proposes online Florida Lottery sales, again
Sen. Gwen Margolis, D-Miami, wants to make Florida Lottery tickets just a click or two away.
Margolis has reintroduced a proposal (SB 98) for the 2014 session that would allow the Florida Lottery to create a program so anyone 18 or older could purchase lottery tickets online.
The Florida Lottery doesn't offer tickets by mail, fax, or via the Internet, requiring tickets to be purchased from among 13,000 authorized retailers.
