Glitch delays live Powerball drawing
Powerball officials suffered an embarrassing but short-lived glitch when the regularly scheduled, live drawing had to be shelved because of unexplained technical difficulties.
Players who stayed up late Saturday night to learn the lucky numbers probably should have just gone to bed: When the numbers finally were drawn, there were no winners of the jackpot estimated at a cool $215 million.

Two CT Lottery employees suspended without pay for their roles in botched raffle drawing
Two middle-level Connecticut Lottery Corp. employees have been suspended without pay in the continuing fallout from a million-dollar mistake in the Jan. 1 drawing that selected winners in the New Year's Super Draw game.
Disciplined for neglect of duty were drawing supervisor Valerie Guglielmo and investigator Robert Balicki. Both served on a five-member drawing team that mistakenly excluded 100,000 of 214,601 eligible tickets that had been sold to players. The error resulted in a do-over draw

CT Lottery security chief on paid leave following review of botched raffle draw

Hoosier Lottery televised drawings take less than a minute to complete but as a local media report shows, it takes hours of preparation every day to make it all happen.
Indiana's Hoosier Lottery utilizes both computerized and traditional ball drawings for its games. The media report focuses mainly on the traditional ball drawings, which are used for the lottery's Daily 3 and Daily 4 drawings.

Arizona Lottery director not embarrassed about computerized drawing fiasco
The head of the Arizona Lottery says he's not embarrassed that his department overlooked a potentially costly failure of its computerized drawings.
Over a six-day period starting Sept. 28, lottery machines spit out the same numbers in consecutive games.

Arizona Lottery computerized drawing machine generated identical winning numbers
Machine taken out of service; no explanation offered
Once again computerized lottery drawings are coming under scrutiny as a machine responsible for generating random numbers has done the opposite, generating exact duplicates.
The Arizona Lottery is offering losing ticket refunds or exchanges from four games held over a recent six-day period because a machine used for the drawings generated the same winning numbers in consecutive games.

Illinois Lottery awards management contract to Camelot

Missouri Lottery facing challenging issues with vendor contract
One of the Missouri Lottery's biggest contracts might not stand up in court if it was challenged by the company that runs its statewide network of ticket sales.

Florida Lottery to resume drawings Tuesday
The Florida Lottery announced Monday that daily drawings will resume today and make-up drawings for all Lottery Draw games suspended due to Hurricane Irma will also be conducted in sequence Tuesday, September 12, with full security and auditing measures in place.
