Arkansas Lottery director resigns

The Arkansas Lottery Commission Monday accepted the resignation of embattled state Lottery Director Ernie Passailaigue, who ends his controversial tenure on his own after surviving two past attempts by commission members to fire him.
Passailaigue submitted a letter of resignation to the commission's chairman, Dianne Lamberth of Batesville, on Friday. His resignation will be effective Oct. 7.
Passailaigue was not hired on a contract and will receive no buyout.

Embattled Arkansas Lottery controller resigns
The top fiscal officer for the Arkansas lottery, who was criticized by some lawmakers and lottery commissioners following an important audit, has resigned.
A resignation letter from lottery controller Philip Miley says he and his wife have decided to return home. Miley was controller for Regional Health Care Holding Inc., a subsidiary of St. Bernard's Health Care of Jonesboro, from 1997 to 2008.
Miley, who has worked for the lottery since July 2009, did not return messages seeking comment.

Tom Shaheen, who has headed the North Carolina Education Lottery since its inception four years ago, has resigned his post to take a job with a company involved in the sale of lottery tickets through ATMs.
Shaheen said Monday that he will be vice president of business development for Linq3, a software company that has a program that allows lottery tickets to be sold through point-of-sale terminals like automated teller machine

Longtime Director of N.H. Lottery to retire
Will oversee addition of Mega Millions game before moving on
The longtime head of the New Hampshire state lottery is retiring after more than three decades with the agency.
Executive Director Rick Wisler, 52, denied he is being forced out but said he has decided to pursue a second career after 34 years in state government.
Wisler has run the lottery since 1994.

Missouri Lottery director resigns amid rift with state commission
The director of the Missouri Lottery is on his way out.
Executive Director Larry Jansen said Monday that he was resigning in response to the Lottery Commission's interest in changing the agency's direction.

Ohio Lottery director resigns
Ohio's lottery director resigned Tuesday from a rocky tenure serving in Gov. Ted Strickland's cabinet, as the state tries to expand the lottery to include video slot machines at horse racing tracks.

Michigan Lottery commissioner to resign
Michigan Lottery commissioner Gary Peters will step down Aug. 10 to take a public policy spot at Central Michigan University, state officials announced Monday.
Peters, 48, was appointed lottery commissioner by Gov. Jennifer Granholm on April 9, 2003. This fall, he will become the third person to hold the Griffin Endowed Chair in American Government at Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant.

Indiana Lottery gets new director
The Hoosier Lottery is getting a new director.
Kathryn Densborn of Indianapolis, a Republican who lost in her bid to oust Democratic state Rep. David Orentlicher in the November election, will begin work at the agency next week and will take over as director in January.
