Woman finds $1 million lottery ticket in husband's backpack
A woman who found a $1 million winning Virginia Lottery ticket in her husband's backpack said he told her he had thought the ticket was a prank.
Rose Ibarra of Avalon, Texas, told Virginia Lottery officials she and her husband were in Virginia while he worked on a construction project.
Ibarra said she was cleaning out her husband's backpack when he found a Hot Millions Multiplier scratch-off ticket that appeared to be a $1 million winner.

Will NC Lottery players move online and hurt retail stores?
The N.C. Retail Merchants Association wants legislators to put the brakes on a proposal to offer online instant lottery games, arguing the move could harm stores that sell lottery tickets.

CVS employee accused of stealing $1 million lottery ticket
An Illinois man claims in a lawsuit filed last week that a CVS employee stole his winning $1 million Illinois Lottery scratch-off card.
Carlos Figueroa claims in the suit filed in Cook County Circuit Court that he bought the winning ticket on Oct. 30 from a CVS Pharmacy in Waukegan. The address of the store was not immediately available.

Woman's $3 million lottery ticket spent months in pile of losers
A Colorado woman whose months-old scratch-off lottery ticket was rejected when she tried to enter it into a second chance drawing discovered it was actually a $3 million winner.
The Colorado Lottery said a woman named Linda told officials she bought the $45,000,000 Golden Jubilee ticket, a $50 Series game, from a Safeway store in Firestone in July.

Another NC woman wins lottery twice in same day
For the second time in three weeks, a North Carolina woman had an amazing streak of luck when she purchased two winning lottery tickets in the same day.
It happened Sunday when Michelle Shuffler of Granite Falls won $10,000 with one scratch-off ticket and $1 million with another, purchased 22 miles away. Granite Falls is about 65 miles northwest of Charlotte.
