California lottery closes office after Sacramento employee tests positive for coronavirus
The California Lottery has closed its Sacramento office to employees after one of them tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a staff email the lottery sent on Friday night.
The email said an employee of the district was tested earlier this month and received a positive test result for COVID-19 on Friday.
The employee has not been to the Sacramento district office since the first week of March, according to the email.

Longtime Rhode Island Lottery chief Gerald Aubin retiring
The longtime head of the Rhode Island Lottery is stepping down.
Gerald Aubin, who has served as director of the Lottery since 1996, announced Friday that he will retire in the spring after nearly a quarter-century in the job. He oversees both traditional games such as scratch tickets as well as the two state-owned casinos operated by Twin River.

Kentucky Lottery president and CEO set to retire
In today's meeting of the Kentucky Lottery Corporation's board of directors, Lottery President and CEO Tom Delacenserie announced his retirement effective March 6.
Delacenserie, who turns 72 years old this year, assumed the top job in May 2017. Sales from FY17 through FY19 rose from $1,000,501,000 to $1,129,655,000, a $129.1 million (12.9%) increase during his tenure.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom appointed Alva Vernon Johnson to take over the the state's lottery Monday, after former director Hugo Lopez stepped down Friday amid investigations.

Mississippi hires experienced executive for its new lottery
The Mississippi Lottery Corporation announced Wednesday that it is hiring an experienced executive as its first president.
Thomas N. Shaheen, 66, begins June 1 and will oversee operations as Mississippi prepares to join most other states in offering scratch-off tickets and other game of chance.
