Oregon man arrested for threatening lottery

A Lebanon, Oregon, man was arrested after he sent a shooting threat in an e-mail to the Oregon Lottery.
The Oregon State Police said Jason David Ouellette, 42, was arrested on suspicion of menacing Tuesday afternoon. 5 hours earlier Ouellette had sent an email to the Lottery's Salem headquarters with an imminent threat to shoot and kill people, the law enforcement agency said.
Ouellette was jailed in Marion County without incident, troopers said, but was later released

Oregon man finds $1 million lottery ticket 8 days before it expired
An Oregon man recently discovered a year-old winning lotto ticket in his home office that he was cleaning, according to the Oregon Lottery.
Amazingly, the lucky man Joemel Panisa found the ticket just eight days before it expired, the Oregon Lottery said in a news release on Wednesday. The ticket was worth $1 million.

Oregon Gov. appoints new lottery director
Barry Pack is now the official nominee for director of the Oregon Lottery.
Gov. Kate Brown announced Friday she has nominated Pack to head the agency, pending Senate confirmation.
Pack has served as acting director of the Lottery since Brown fired former Director Jack Roberts in April, citing management problems. Pack previously served as director of the Department of Administrative Services. He also was an aide to Brown when she was secretary of state and a state senator.

Oregonians approve Measure 96, devoting lottery net proceeds toward veterans
Oregonians voted to approve Measure 96 Tuesday, giving 1.5 percent of state lottery net proceeds toward veterans' service.
This would include assistance with employment, education, housing, physical/mental health care, addiction treatment, reintegration, access to government benefits, and other services for veterans, spouses and dependents.

An Oregon truck driver who won a $9.4 million lottery jackpot said he completed his drywall delivery on his way to claim the prize.

Gov. Kate Brown abruptly fired Oregon Lottery Director Jack Roberts on Tuesday and replaced him with an administrator from the Department of Administrative Services.

More than three months after hitting the winning numbers, a Springfield, Oregon, man has claimed a record-breaking Keno win of more than $300,000.

New Oregon law allows lottery prize garnishments for overpayments
A new Oregon law, effective Jan. 1, authorizes the state Department of Human Services and the Oregon Health Authority to garnish Oregon Lottery prize payments greater than $600 to recover overpayments of public assistance, medical assistance and supplemental nutrition assistance.
