19-year-old shot over winning Kentucky lottery ticket
Two men are behind bars after being accused of shooting a 19-year-old for his winning lottery ticket two weeks ago near Churchill Downs.
One minute the man was on top of the world, and minutes later he was undergoing surgery at University Hospital and one of the suspects was trying to cash the lottery ticket.

Twin sisters split $6 million California Lottery prize
Twin sisters from California are now millionaires after winning $6 million in a scratch-off lotto ticket.

Scratch games power increased Arizona Lottery revenues
Arizona Lottery sales exceeded $379.9 million during the first half of its 2016 fiscal year, which ran from July 1 through Dec. 31, 2015.
These numbers represent an increase of 12.2 percent over the same period during the previous fiscal year. Notably, the increase does not include the entire windfall of sales generated by the record-breaking $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot drawing which took place in January.

Homeless man helped by lottery winner arrested for failing to register as sex offender
A homeless man who was given a warm bed and some loving care by a Massachusetts lottery winner was arrested Thursday for failing to register as a sex offender.
Glenn Williams, 59, was picked up by police at a first-floor apartment on Parker Street in the West End where he was staying with another woman, police spokesman Detective Capt. Steven Vicente said.

Massachusetts woman spent lottery winnings to help homeless man
A Massachusetts woman won the lottery, and quickly spent all the reward money to help a homeless man on Saturday.
After her selfless act, Sofia Lorena also set up a GoFundMe for Glenn Williams, the homeless man she met just seconds after winning $200 on a scratch ticket, she said.
The crowdfunded charity has already raised more than $1,900 in less than 24 hours for Williams, who encountered Lorena on Saturday night while standing in the frigid cold in Wareham.

Bad dad accused of stealing lottery tickets with son
A Port Orange, Florida, father and son accused of stealing $300 worth of scratch-off lottery tickets from a convenience store didn't have much luck, Volusia sheriff's investigators said.

Police are searching for a man who was caught on video robbing a Buddhist monk as he bought lottery tickets in a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, convenience store.

A Des Moines, Iowa, man is facing a charge of underage gambling after he collected a $100,000 Iowa Lottery prize this summer.
