N.J. lottery drawing games offline across the state over the weekend
Half of all lottery retailers across New Jersey were not been able to issue any tickets from Friday night through Monday as a result of a technical issue, a state Treasury spokesman confirmed Monday.
The problem was touched off by a scheduled system upgrade Friday, according to an email from Treasury spokesman Chris Santarelli.
The glitch interfered with retailer shops' ability to print out ticket for draw games, such as the Pick 3, Pick 4 and the Jersey Cash 5, and Cash4Life. Instant game

Tonight's Ireland Lotto draw cancelled because of network failure
Tonight's Ireland Lotto jackpot may be 10 million but National Lottery machines around the country aren't keen on it being won they've been out of commission since this morning.
The Ireland National Lottery has now confirmed that tonight's draw has been cancelled.

Western Canada Lottery glitch causes ticket errors
The Western Canadian Lottery Corporation (WCLC) is advising customers to recheck their tickets following a system problem.
Officials said a delay in the draw results may mean that winning tickets weren't correctly identified.
They weren't released to the system until 10:35 yesterday morning. When normally they would be available as the retailors were opening their stores, WCLC stakeholder relations director, Amanda Marantz, explained.

Lottery player says scanner not accurate
One man's faith in the reliability of Florida's lottery system has been shaken after an odd incident.
It was around 8:30 p.m. the evening after a drawing. Robert Campisi, 48, a retired business owner and electrical contractor, was in the Exxon at 7624 Front Beach Road.

Illinois Lottery glitch causes many duplicate Quick Pick tickets
Mary Ellen Reiter felt like she got one losing ticket for the price of two after discovering that eight sets of numbers on one Illinois Lottery quick-pick ticket that she bought matched eight sets of numbers on another.
I think that they should make it right, said Reiter, 52, of Evanston, who bought the duplicate tickets Sunday at a convenience store in the northern suburb. The way I figure, I should at least receive back $5 of free quick-picks.

The Tennessee Education Lottery Corp. has received nearly $1 million from a pair of technology companies it blamed for software glitches that resulted in the sale of about $2 million worth of unwinnable tickets in 2007.

Man to sue Austrian casino after $57 million jackpot denied
A gambler who thought he had won 37 million (US$57 million) on a slot machine has been offered a free meal and 60 (US$93) instead, after casino bosses said the jackpot was due to a software error .
Behar Merlaku, 26, played the winning machine at a casino in Bregenz, Austria.

Atlantic Lottery Web site suffers three-day outage
The Atlantic Lottery Corp. website was down for a third day as technicians worked behind the scenes to do an upgrade on the site, widely used by lottery players to check winning ticket numbers or play games.
The Atlantic Lottery includes the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

Glitches with new D.C. Lottery system prompt complaints, long lines
Change did not come easily Tuesday for D.C. Lottery retailers and customers, who waited in lines and struggled with a new lottery system run by Greek gaming giant Intralot and Maryland businessman Emmanuel S. Bailey.
After an unprecedented five-hour delay in commencing the lottery system about three hours of which put off payouts from winning numbers users on both sides of the bulletproof glass in D.C. convenience stores began the day with a host of complaints.
