Wisconsin woman claims $156.2 million Powerball lottery jackpot

After four months, the $156.2 million Powerball lottery jackpot prize sold in Wisconsin in March has been claimed.
Milwaukee resident Mai Xiong brought in the winning ticket for the March 22, 2017, drawing from Pewaukee Corner Pump, 1194 W Capitol Drive in Milwaukee.
Xiong chose to receive the lump-sum cash option, meaning she will be paid a sum of $93.1 million before the initial taxes are withheld, including 25 percent for federal tax plus 7.65 percent for state inco

California winner of $447 million Powerball lottery jackpot claims prize
The winner of the 10th largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history has finally come forward to claim their prize, more than a month after winning the $447.8 million Powerball lottery jackpot.
The winner, Jeff Lindsay, did not wish to speak with the media after claiming his prize Wednesday and declined to take a winner's photo. However, California state law requires the name of jackpot winners to be released.

Illinois lost $4 million by halting Powerball, Mega Millions sales
llinois lost nearly $4 million by shutting down Powerball and Mega Millions ticket sales because of the state budget impasse, a lottery official said Friday.
Lottery chief of staff Jayme Odom said the state lost about $2.4 million in revenue from Powerball and $1.5 million from Mega Millions during the ticket-sales hiatus. She said it's unclear whether sales have recovered since they were reintroduced Thursday night.

Illinois Lottery resumes selling Mega Millions, Powerball tickets

The Illinois Lottery has resumed sales of Mega Millions and Powerball tickets now that the state's budget stalemate has concluded, lottery officials said.
The state stopped sales late last month of the popular Powerball and Mega Millions games due to its inability to contribute to the prize pool without a budget in place.

The Iowa Supreme Court has dismissed the conviction of an Iowa man who just last week pleaded guilty in federal court to charges related with rigging lottery computers in order to win jackpots.
