Four co-workers are suing a Surrey, British Columbia, man for what they claim is their fair share of a $1 million lottery prize.
Ding Jiu Du, Haret Dagane, Elwood Prado and Tounkham Homsombath say that on Dec. 12, 2018, they gave Hung Sengsouvanh some money left over from a contribution to an upcoming potluck Christmas party at the lighting factory where they all worked.

Canadian lottery scammers fined $4.6 million
A father and his daughter were each fined $2.3 million for their roles in an insider lottery scam.
Jun-Chul Chung, 68, and his daughter, Kathleen Chung, 36, were handed the hefty fines last week by Justice Douglas Gray.
Chung was convicted of stealing a $12.5 million Super 7 ticket from a 2003 drawing, while his daughter falsely claimed the winnings and was convicted of possession of stolen property and defrauding the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

Woman steals credit cards, buys winning lottery ticket, gets arrested
A 33-year-old Canadian woman hit it big in the lottery, but ended up on the losing end when the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary charged her with theft of a credit card used to purchase the winning ticket.

Chase the Ace lottery dispute settled between aunt and nephew
A family dispute over a $1.2 million lottery prize won in July was settled Monday after a five-hour settlement conference.
In July, Barbara Reddick of Guysborough and her nephew, Tyrone MacInnis of Glace Bay were announced as the winners of the $1.2 million prize in the Chase the Ace lottery held in Margaree Forks.
Immediately following the presentation, Reddick served verbal notice to her nephew that she was taking him to court to claim the full prize. They each received $611,319.50.
