Va. grocery store worker's lottery ticket mistake turns into $7 million grand prize
A Virginia grocery store employee's mistake during Powerball jackpot fever earlier this month ended up turning into a $7 million windfall.
Michael Donnelly was ringing up Powerball tickets for customers at the Harris Teeter store in Falls Church. But for one transaction, he accidentally punched the wrong button on the lottery terminal and printed a Cash4Life ticket that the customer didn't want.

A Bronx, New York, cab driver with big money woes swiped his buddy's winning $50,000 Powerball ticket then tried to pass it off as his own, authorities said Tuesday.

California Lottery officials seized surveillance footage from store that sold Powerball ticket
Whoever bought the winning Powerball ticket from a Chino Hills, California, 7-Eleven remains a mystery, even to the store's owner.

Powerball renews interest in Mississippi state lottery
By all accounts, Mississippians by droves participated in the $1.6 billion Powerball lottery that was awarded this past week, but the state of Mississippi did not participate.
Mississippi is one of six states that does not conduct a lottery. The others are Alabama, Nevada, Utah, Hawaii and Alaska.

A Tennessee couple that won a share of the $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot says they plan to return to their jobs after winning the mammoth prize.
At a press conference Friday, Tennessee Lottery president Rebecca Hargrove said that John and Lisa Robinson had the winning ticket and the lottery had verified it. The Robinsons are from Munford, Tennessee, a small town about 25 miles north of Memphis.
