N.C. store clerk charged in lottery scam
Police arrested a convenience store clerk Thursday after she allegedly told a customer his ticket wasn't a winner, then cashed the $50 winning ticket after the man left the store.
Kathleen Patricia McClusky, 19, of Clayton, was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses. She was working as a clerk at the Kangaroo Station on U.S. 70 in Clayton.
She was taken to the Johnston County jail under $15,000 bond.

Father charged with helping sons steal $5 million lottery ticket
The owner of a Syracuse, New York, convenience store was arrested this week on charges of conspiring with his son to steal a $5 million lottery ticket from a man who'd bought it at the store.
Nayef Ashkar, 56, was arrested Tuesday by an investigator with the Onondaga County District Attorney's Office on a charge of fourth-degree conspiracy.

Lena Eaton, a 91-year-old great grandmother, is arguably the luckiest woman in Indiana.
In the past three months, the Indianapolis resident has purchased not one, but two winning lottery tickets.

Man has Tennessee Lottery tickets delivered to his doorstep
Mike West gets weekly deliveries to his home in Erin. Wednesday morning when he opened a box he was surprised to find thousands of dollars of Tennessee Lottery scratch off tickets.

Homeless S.C. man hits it big
A Greenville, South Carolina man living at a rescue mission after falling on hard times said he now has a chance at a new home after winning $200,000.
South Carolina Education Lottery officials said the man bought a $10 scratch-off ticket that revealed he was a winner. The man told lottery officials he has lived in Greenville his entire life and used to work construction jobs but after hard times hit, he's been living at a rescue mission.

Two brothers kept quiet for six years about the $5 million winning lottery ticket they'd bought at their parents' store in Syracuse.
