$1M lottery ticket found in Michigan woman's old mail
A Kentwood, Michigan, woman is $1 million richer after finding a winning Mega Millions ticket in a pile of old mail.
During a recent visit to the store, the clerk told Tuttle someone had won $1 million with a ticket that had been purchased at the store.
Tuttle then went home to check a pile of some old mail where she found the ticket, learning she was the big winner, according to the Michigan State Lottery.

Judges denies request for new trial

Eddie Tipton, a former security official with the Multi-State Lottery Association, was sentenced to 10 years behind bars Wednesday morning.
Tipton was sentenced to five years for each of the two counts of fraud, to run consecutively. He did not make a statement during the sentencing hearing.

Minnesota retiree scores his second big payout in 2015
Turns out, when it comes to beating long odds, Jeffrey Bock has just the right touch.
For the second time this year, the 65-year-old St. Paul retiree has struck lottery gold, with his latest odds-defying reward proving even more lucrative than the first.
Bock scored a $100,000 top prize payout by matching all 12 numbers in Sunday's All or Nothing drawing, Minnesota Lottery officials said Tuesday.
About eight months ago, Bock won $20,000 with a $2 scratch-off ticket.

Maryland Lottery to join Cash4Life game in early 2016

Maryland gambling officials issued their approval Thursday for the state to join the multi-state Cash4Life game starting in early 2016.
Cash4Life, which started in 2014 as a two-state game played in New Jersey and New York, has been popular with players and is steadily adding new member states. In addition to the original two states, the game currently is offered in Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Michigan Mega Millions ticket worth $1 million goes unclaimed
Prize money goes to state school aid fund
A winning Mega Millions ticket sold in Michigan expired Wednesday and the $1 million prize went to the state School Aid Fund.
The ticket, which expired at 4:45 p.m., was sold in Grand Rapids at the CVS Pharmacy, located at 727 28th Street Southeast in Grand Rapids. The winner matched the first five numbers drawn 25, 28, 36, 45, and 53 in the Aug. 5, 2014 drawing.

St. Louis city employees claim $70 million Powerball jackpot
St. Louis' newest millionaires are two city employees who bought a winning Powerball ticket this month.
Tom Rea, a building maintenance supervisor for the city's department of corrections and his wife, Catherine Ruggeri-Rea, the city's courts administrator, were announced as the winners of a $70 million jackpot at a news conference Wednesday morning.

Virginia truck driver claims Mega Millions jackpot in Pa.
A professional truck driver for nearly 30 years will be retiring early thanks to a lottery ticket he purchased at a Pennsylvania travel plaza.
