Ohio Mega Millions lottery winner claims prize
The owner of a winning Mega Millions lottery ticket claimed a multimillion-dollar prize Friday, ending two weeks of uncertainty.The identity of the winner, however, remains a mystery.Lottery officials announced Aug. 20 that the winning ticket for a $52 million jackpot was sold at a Shaker Heights store. Lottery Scammer Sentenced
A 19-year-old high school student pleads guilty to trying to con the Maryland Lottery out of $175,000.John Gilbert was sentenced in Baltimore County court Tuesday to 50 hours of community service and six months probation for presenting a counterfeit ticket for payment.Prosecutors say Gilbert taped together the top half of a losing Mega Millions ticket with the bottom half of a ticket showing the winning numbers, which he'd played the day after the drawing.
