$380 MILLION: Massive sales push Powerball jackpot higher
Now 10th-largest jackpot in US history

Due to larger than expected sales volume, the Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) has raised the official Powerball lottery jackpot estimate for Saturday's drawing to $380 million.
The updated jackpot figure propelled Saturday's drawing into the top 10 highest jackpots in United States lottery history. (See the top 25 annuity and cash value jackpots below.)

Retired Brooklyn bus driver hits $7M Cash4Life jackpot
The next stop for this retired Brooklyn bus driver is Easy Street.
Frederick McClendon claimed his $7 million prize Tuesday in the New York Lottery's Cash4Life draw game.

Lucky for Life multi-state lottery game set to expand next week

New England's Lucky for Life lottery game is set to expand into an additional eight states starting next week.
The multi-state game offers a grand prize of $1,000 a day for life, and has drawings every Monday and Thursday.
Uniquely, the game offers a another lifetime prize for the second prize level $25,000 a year for life.

$270 million Mega Millions jackpot won in Illinois

An Illinois lottery player won the first jackpot of 2015, worth an estimated $270 million in a Mega Millions drawing Friday.
The ticket, a quick pick meaning the numbers were selected randomly by the lottery terminal, was sold at Bucky's Express, 1202 Bloomingdale Road in west suburban Glendale Heights, said Illinois Lottery spokesman Mike Lang.
The store will receive a $500,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
It is the largest prize in Illinois Lottery history

MUSL employee arrested in Hot Lotto jackpot mystery
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has made an arrest in the four-year-old case involving a winning Hot Lotto ticket worth more than $16 million which the winner mysteriously decided not to claim.
Eddie Raymond Tipton, 51, of Norwalk, was arrested on Thursday. He has been charged with two counts of fraud, which are class D felonies.

Retired NY principal claims $326M lottery jackpot
A retired Sullivan County, New York, school principal drew the sole winning ticket from a $326 million Mega Millions game two months ago, making him the biggest winner in state lottery history, officials said Monday.
Harold Diamond, 80, purchased the winning multi-state ticket at a Valero gas station in Middletown on Nov. 4.
Diamond had 60 days to contact lottery officials, and the Wurtsboro resident finally did so just before Christmas.

$1 million lottery prize goes unclaimed
It's the big Christmas payout that will never be.
Two months ago, someone won $1 million on a Powerball ticket at an Albuquerque, New Mexico, gas station. The deadline for claiming the huge prize came and went Wednesday, with nobody stepping forward with the winning ticket.
If I had a million dollars, I could do a lot of good things with it, Kevin Chavez said.
