I'm posting today because we could have a free number tonight looking at #31. If it pops tonight it will be four nights in a row so I'll be playing it on four of my five games. Since we just started the new year my graph visual shows me five numbers that hit three times already, they be #9,#19,#26,#31 and #33.

Looks like you got a three bagger there Mr. sam9009 . With that #31 popping I got a few free tickets. Well of course we will play the #31 again and I like the angle #26.

Nice call on #31 triple repeating Casper!

Triple repeaters are rare. I didn't play T5 last night, but if I had played I wouldn't have gone with #31 due to how rare triple repeaters are.

On a different note, and I know playing the lottery aint like hand grenades where ya only gotta be close, but last Wednesday night I missed winning $2,000 in PowerBall due to two "one-off's". I missed having the PowerBall by one number, and I missed having three numbers on the same line with another one off. I bought the PowerPlay which was 4, so if I had three numbers and the PowerBall, I'd have won 400 bucks... but because I played that same line on five different tickets (along with some other numbers that I wheeled) my total winnings would have been $2000. Instead I won ZIP!!! Gotta love it. NOT!! G5

I just sent an email to the New York Lottery via their website. I asked them how many UNCLAIMED Take5 first prize winning tickets currently exist.

Because I'm going to Florida for a month next April, I'm planning to play Florida Fantasy 5 while I'm there. I've been reading The Florida Lottery's website and I've seen a few things on their website that IMHO are quite good. One of those things is a list of names of first prize winners with retailer information. It shows where the winning top prize ticket(s) were purchased, how many first prize winners there were for any given drawing, and how much money all first prize winners actually won. That list is 810 pages long and it dates back to December 1, 2009. One thing I really liked about it is it shows the words "UNCLAIMED AT THIS TIME" in the Winners column if a first prize winner has not yet claimed their win.

The vast majority of first prizes shown on the list are claimed by the winner(s), but there have been a few times where a top prize went unclaimed. For instance, on July 6, 2016, the list shows "EXPIRED ON 1/2/2017 - QP" which means the ticket went unclaimed. On 7/6/2016 there were SIX winners and five of those winners claimed $37,204.65 each, but somebody missed out on 37 grand...... OUCH!!!

Something interesting is going on with Take5.... but it's not what you think.

There has been at least one jackpot winner every day this year with the exception of January 9th when there was no winner. Average jackpot won is $43,702. Eleven jackpots have been split by 15 winners. (On January 6th, one player won "twice" by buying the same line twice at one retailer in Brklyn)

The biggest jackpot was $69,528 on January 3rd split by three winners - each got $23,176.

I would have thought there would have been more days where the jackpot was NOT won. Go figure. G5

I hit a four bagger last nite and won $715.50 I had 05 06 08 19 33 on my ticket. I had a "one-off" and just missed winning approximately $60,000 because there was no jackpot winner last night. G5

Now this note: For those who use A+ or AGold, you've no doubt discovered that the databases have a limit on the number of draws it retains. NY Take 5 has a limit of 8189 draws, so when you add one, it drops one. This causes a few headaches when you want to know how many repeating sets there are for all five numbers (quints)...among other things that you may want to track. Currently the software is only showing 59 matches (it dropped one set over a week ago and lost another somewhere else in the last 133 drawings since the limit took effect.). However, I decided to create my own tracking in MS Access and in 8322 drawings, we are now up to 61 quint matches (2 each of 5-numbers). The latest match was on 1/10/2020, 18-21-27-37-38. This set was previously drawn on 1/14/2010.

Thanks Tique! Wish I knew what it was that I did right!! This win kind of went in the "dumb luck" bucket. Well, partially anyway..

The Mrs G5 and I went grocery shopping and I decided in addition to buying a PowerBall ticket, that I'd also buy a T5 ticket. BUT!! I had not picked my T5 numbers using Smart Luck before we left the house. (Like I had done for PB) So I took a playslip out of the rack and went over to the coffee tables and sat down to try to figure out which T5 numbers to play. I used my iPhone to go to The NY Lottery's website and looked at the last ten T5 drawings. I saw #6 hadn't been drawn, #8 is a favorite number of mine, and #19 was last years hot number so I picked those three numbers. As for #5 and #33, well I just kinda decided I'd play them, but I had no particular reason for choosing them! It was more of a "that's where the dart landed" type of thing.

Yesterday, after I so very proudly announced my big win to her, my wife said "Well, those four new tires for your car that you had to pay 800 dollars for last week (so it would pass a NY State inspection) have now only cost you $100." Sometimes I absolutely hate it when she makes such good sense. G5
