  All the old ladies in my family play the lottery 

  For as long as I remember, they've played 1 ticket a week and the tradition has been to talk about the "estate" and how many acres it will be on.

  • If the chances of winning the jackpot are so slim, why play when the jackpot is so small? Your chances never change, but the potential payoff does.
  • If a crystal ball showed you the future of the rest of your life, and in that future you will never win a jackpot, would you still play?
  • I believe Joan Ginther ("world's luckiest woman") merely played lottery as a tax strategy. Evidence: zero prize claims through 10 years after her last Lotto Texas annuity payment!

  Me and my dad play every MM drawing,  we each get $1 MM line every drawing.  Not big players but still in the game

  there was no siblings, so i picked other.

  my mum gave me the bug, and i run a syndicate with just family in it. i think its safe of <snip>s but you never know. we all talk still so cant be getting along too badly.

  I think I'm the only one although there may be some that play now and then.

  I had a cousin who I think was a big winner, he never told me but he did something smart winners do...

  moved away to a small town where no one knew him.
