  Hello I heard about backtesting but never understood it so could someone show me how to backtestwith some examples please.

  First off, you should be inclined to the task of keeping your own recording of your States/Country's game.  Having a Gold or Platinum account here will also fare you well so you can collect at least a years worth of drawing results to check against.

  For instance, in the image below I use an MSExcel workbook to record Ohio's daily pick 3 draw games side by side.

  If I want to back test any idea or theory (and there are plenty here on LP) I have the set up to do it by organizing the draw results.

  With a paid account here you can do a search on results and eyeball the back tracking.  But there is no better clarification of study then putting your hands to work with brain.  If you don't have MSExcel, any spreadsheet type program will do---and Google Sheets is free if you have a Google account.  Key on back testing is being organizing.  You don't want to just test one month, but at least a year, but more is better.

  In my recording below, I can easily see that numbers will repeat from one draw to the next about half the time each month. Sometimes skipping two days with no repeaters.  This means I can eliminate 3 numbers (or 2 if a double) from my pool of combinations to play.

  2. Create the data you want to look for. In this case, I used a TTT workout based on the lakerben system, "Cash Cow".

  The results show a straight hit among the 27 plays in the L to R section. In this case it’s squares #7, #2, & #3 of the TTT block that produced a winning straight combo. There is also straight hit inside the All section, where there were 246 combo’s to play

  This is just a small portion of backtesting. You need to look at various ways yo collect your data. In this case that is the data found in the shaded areas. You study it, and then apply what you have learned from the past and hope you found a pattern or anomaly that will bring you a winner in the future.

  You will find in most cases, you will end up with far too many numbers to play. That is where filters come in to play. That is a lesson for another day. Some here believe backtesting is a waste of time, I am not one of them. Just understand that random is not something that can be predicted with 100% certainty. Your best chance is to find a pattern or anomaly in your backtesting and take advantage of it before it fades away.

  Depending on your game.

  Say you are play pick three.

  And you were born on March 3, 2003.

  You would naturally have an affinity for the number 333.

  So you do a "backest"

  Now another person was born on August 08, 2008,

  They would natureally have an affinty for the number 888, sothey do a backtest.

  If an idpendent observer has to make the choice. Which is "more likely" to be drawn, a 333 or a 888?

  IMHO

  A bactest would try to determine if the 333  or the 888 is a better bet in a particualr garme, at a particular time.

   

  If the 333 has hit 52 times in the last ten years, and the 

  ------888 has hit 26 times in the last then years, then

  math and logic should perhaps lead a player to play the 333 IN STEAD of the 888.

  That is the purpose and goal of a "backtest".

  Back test does not guareentee any money.  Unfortunately.  Perhaps...Maybe...

   

  Theoretically thats a "backtest"
