  To All Members

  This is to alert you of an e-mail I received claiming a fatal virus will damage your computer if certain file is not deleted. Please do not follow those instructions. Below is the message I received and I know the person who sent it to me was trying to act in good faith. I did not delete the file because it did not sound right to me. Instead I looked for more information. Following is the message I got:

  mY ADDRESS BOOK WAS INFECTED AND AS A RESULT, SO HAS YOURS BECAUSE YOUR ADDRESS IS IN IT. tHE VIRUS IS CALLED jdbgmgr.exe
  IT CANNOT BE DETECTED BY NORTON OR MCFEE ANTI VIURS. IT SITS QUIETLY FOR  14 DAYS BEFORE DAMAGING THE SYSTEM. IT IS SENT AUTOMATICALLY BY MESSENGER AND BY ADDRESS BOOK, WHETHER O NOT YOU SEND EMAILS.
    tO GET RID OF IT (QUITE EASY TO ACCOMPLISH)
  1. gO TO Start, then FIND or Search
  2. in files/folders write the name jdbgmgr. exe
  be sure to look in C" drive
  3. Click find or search; the virus has a TEDDY BEAR icon
     DO NOT OPEN.
  4. RIGHT CLICK AND DELETE IT.
  5. GO TO RECYCLE BIN AND DELETE IT THERE, ALSO
  iF YOU FIND THE VIRUS (AS I DID), YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK SO THEY CAN ERADICATE THIS VIRUS FROM THEIR ADDRESS BOOKS.
