The daily grind

I had an eye exam appointment @ 09:40 this morning. I did not check the road report before leaving so I left at 08:30 figuring 1/2 hour to drive 20 miles to Charleston leaving me 35 minutes to find parking and to enter the building for check in to the Appointment.

Left the House and got down to the first major highway leading to I 26. Bogged down, Took me 1/2 hour to go 4 miles to the interstate. I 26 bogged down for miles. Did not arrive in Charleston until 09:35 hours, luckily someone was leaving when I pulled in and I pulled into that space. By the time I got into the building and checked in for the appointment I was eight minutes late.

Got through the exam with no major changes in eyesight and not needing new glasses. Checked out of there and had a cup of coffee at the cafeteria before leaving giving me extra time for my eyeballs to get back into focus. Left there and came back home taking me 20 minutes to return.

Too late to play lottery for mid-day, was going to play 426 & 428. 429 hit mid-day from the list I posted with my front pairs selection.

Now to decide what I am going to do with the rest of the day.

All these daily decisions and drama tires a person out. Jack-in-the-Box

The daily grind

Made it through another day. Hung around the house until about 1400 hrs. Then went to the gym for about an hour, got my lottery ticket for tonight. Spent a whole big dollar on that.

Got home and put on my yard clothes and worked on the flowers and container garden until about 1745 hs. Transplanted more squash I started from seed, Worked on some wire chimneys that needed to be done up right. Had some violas that came up from seed in one of the Begonia pails so I transplanted the best plant in the petunia bucket as the petunia plants are dying off.

Came in and washed up and had some chow and now reading and watching the news.

Looks like Kav and his accuser is going to face off next Monday.

Starting out to be an interesting week. Woke up late and it took some time to get my brain cleared and my body energized. Read some interesting tid bits on the Kav accuser.

Democrats have gone Bat sh!t crazy since his defeat of Clinton.

Kavanaugh vote coming up this week, More DOJ & FBI drama coming this week.

The gym report

09/15/2018

Think I am up and down with water weight. Low weight during week 210 lbs with a high of 214 lbs.

Still toning the muscles up and have put more focus on the chest and back muscles.

Leg muscles are coming along fine as I can do 50 reps or more @ 70 lbs on the leg curl and lateral raise machine.

Walking much better with less pain and dependency on the crutch. 

Still need to keep the focus on the starch and carb intake. Have been slipping on what I have been eating.

All the exercises work the lungs also and have seen an improvement in the coloration of phlegm raised. I have COPD with a suspicion of it being silicosis.

Watching the Weather Channel this AM and looks like nothing serious is going to hit Summerville SC according to the current forecast. The threat has only disrupted a lot of activity until the threat passes.

The daily grind

Monday Sept 10 2018 was just another day filled with my regular routine. Had a good laugh reading about Trump tweeting about his magic wand. I think he was Pokesomeone.

When I went to the gym I wore a tighter fitting shirt [polo] to work up a sweat doing weights and mostly on the cycle ride. Rode for 25 minutes today doing five miles. Worked up a bit of a sweat to knock off an ounce or so of fat.

I have been wearing loose fitting short sleeve shirts and have not been working up a sweat.

A one hour workout four or five times a week is not much exertion. When I was doing construction I would be going eight hours or more a day carrying construction material and nailing it together. A lot of times outside in hot beastly weather. That sh!t keeps the pounds trimmed off. I gained most of my excess weight after I retired doing much of nothing.
