CBS fires vice president who said Vegas victims didn't deserve sympathy because country music fans 'often are Republican'

Hayley Geftman-Gold, the network's now-former vice president and senior counsel, took to Facebook after a gunman opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, killing at least 58 people and sending more than 500 others to hospitals.

“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs [sic] will ever do the right thing,” Geftman-Gold wrote in a now-deleted message that was first reported and captured by The Daily Caller.

Geftman-Gold continued: “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc [sic] country music fans often are Republican gun toters [sic].”

The NFL would find it easier to tell politicians to mind their own business if they weren’t taking cash from them

"......There’s no separation of sport and state

But one factor complicates this separation of sport and state where the NFL is concerned. Cash. Namely, your cash.

Since 2000, 36 professional sports stadiums have been constructed or revamped under financing provided by federal tax-exempt municipal bonds, costing taxpayers over $3.2 billion. Watchdog.org puts the figure at $7 billion. The Indianapolis Colts got $619 million of taxpayer’s money. The Pittsburgh Steelers got $171.6 million. The The New England Patriots got $72 million. They were short changed.

When the Raiders (whose lowest paid player earns a base salary of $465,000) move to Las Vegas, they will leave Oakland’s taxpayers (who have an average per capita income of $33,505) with $83 million of debt on two-decade-old renovations to the Alameda County Coliseum that they are abandoning. The US Bank Stadium, home of our own Vikings, was part paid for by $348 million of state (taxpayers) money and $150 million to be raised by a hospitality tax in Minneapolis. Over the 30-year life of the deal, the city of Minneapolis must pay a total of $678 million, including interest, operations, and construction costs.

What economic benefits? ......"

Supreme Court Grants Cert In Historic Employee Freedom Case

Entire post explains it well so please read if you have time. Text highlighting mine.

Justice Scalia was to have ruled on this had he lived.

SUPREME COURT GRANTS CERT IN HISTORIC EMPLOYEE FREEDOM CASE

"While rich leftists are often assumed to be the main supporters of the Democratic Party, it is public sector unions that provide the lion’s share of the Democrats’ funding. They take money involuntarily from their members, a large majority of whom have never even voted on whether to be represented by a union, and many of whom disapprove of the union’s agenda, and recycle that money into left-wing causes, Democratic Party candidates, and inflated salaries for countless union officials. The entire system is the number one form of corruption in American public life.

If, as expected, Justice Gorsuch casts the decisive fifth vote in favor of Mark Janus, that cycle of corruption will come to a screeching halt. All public employees in the U.S. will, in effect, be treated as though they were in a right to work state. Those who don’t want to be represented by the union, or support it, won’t have to. The effect on the public sector unions, and the Democratic Party, will be devastating, as we have seen in Wisconsin. When teachers and other public employees aren’t required by law to support Democratic Party unions, they desert them in droves....."
