Indiana legislature rejects bill for online lottery ticket sales
Thankfully Kentucky lottery has this option. Last night in the single digits here played on line. An email came saying I won $100 on Pick 3!
To this day you cannot play Mid-day and Evening draws @ the same time. No biggie, come out and go back in for the other drawing.
Still many offers are brick and mortar only. The $10 Mega millions on a single ticket through 03 FEB 26 yields a plain old $2 Powerball.

Millionaire for Life multi-state lottery game to replace Cash4Life and Lucky for Life in February
I also believe that while multiple winners of the jackpot in the same drawing is definitely possible, that that's an outlier. It could happen but it very likely won't. And state lottery's know that. My guess is that they have it covered in the Official Rules, but they aren't thinking they'll have to resort using to that rule.
I play PB for a second prize win and I buy the PowerPlay option. I play the exact same line five times on my ticket. If I matched the first five numbers, but not the P

The new Millionaire for Life multi-state draw game is just around the corner, which will offer the jackpot of a lifetime.

Florida man arrested after attempting to cash stolen $115,000 Fantasy 5 lottery ticket
I think Tony Numbers post contains the most likely explanation of how the ticket was stolen.
Fanatsy5 is a daily online game with two drawings per day so the ticket purchase and the drawing had to have taken place prior to October 2nd. What I can't figure out is if the guy that originally bought the ticket took the gas station owners word for it that it was a loser, how did he learn on October 2nd the gas station owner had lied to him and that it was really a $115 jackpot winner? Especially

Georgia lottery winner starts off new year by claiming $983 million Mega Millions jackpot
That is incorrect .
Lottery players pay the tax rate due in the year it is claimed, not the year it was won. That's because it is the actual acceptance of the money (as income) that triggers the tax, not the date of the drawing (which itself has no fiscal impact).
It is the same thing as if you did a job in 2025 but did not get paid until 2026. You would owe the tax in (and pay the tax rate of) 2026 the year you actually got paid not the year you did the work.

Annual Christmas drawing doles out 2.7 billion
By Kate Northrop
Spain's famous annual El Gordo, which translates to The Fat One, has expectedly spurred celebration across the nation with its 2.7 billion (US$2.8 billion) prize payout, but a ticket slip up has left some villagers in a small town shorthanded.
Townsfolk in Villamanin, a village of fewer than 1,000 residents, won 35 million in the 2.7 billion El Gordo lottery draw but lost 4 million of that prize money due to a ticket blu

$1.7 BILLION: Will Powerball create a Christmas billionaire?
You're both too old to be passing on any drawing
I'd agree if I was stupid enough to have no clue about the odds, or math in general.
In fact it would be much easier to deal with.
I'd agree if I was stupid enough to think that writing an extra zero every now and then was a burden.

If you ever run a pool you make copies of the tickets and hand out the copies to the participants before the drawing. That way it avoids any problems if someone wins with a ticket that they bought for themselves outside of the pool.
