lottery formula
Hi,I've been lurking for a while and have been entertained educated by the postings. Please can someone help me with the following: I am looking for an Excel formula that will generate a list of all possible triple combinations of a 49 number draw. Secondly if someone can provide a formula that would enable me to determine the frequency of repetitive triple combinations in my lottery data.I have a lottery table with all lottery results in (Columns B:G), 300 rows. I would appreciate any help you

Graphs in Excel for Powerball or Mega Millions help
I was wondering if anyone can point me in a direction that can help me create graphs for the winning numbers that show the frequency and possibly create patterns based on your input? I am learning how to create one using Javascript but that will take sometime. In the meantime I am searching for excel files that I can download with all the current numbers. Thanks

INTRODUCE YOURself / Q 'bout stand-alone software.
Ah HA! Got it! Thx, RJOh I've been trying to lean more on Excel... seems to be the only tool out there, designable. Right now, the COUNT and FREQUENCY functions are giving me fits. I'm attempting to take an array of dates and numbers and get results with frequency of numbers to dates - count the freq of numbers. Can't seem to get the onboard formulae to work - durned Help is limited. I'll have to take hat-in-hand and tack a thread on the Math Forum. I have found some software adverti

lottery formula
SHTh,There are 18424 possible combinations of threes in a 49 number field. If you have the formular for coming up with the 13983816 combinations of sixes then modiy it for three. To find the frequency of match 3's, you can use an odds calculation which will be pretty close to the real answer you get by checking each file record with the total file. I don't use excel and don't have a copy of it, but I have a routine(program) that I wrote in GWBasic that works for me. The same routines are in

megamillions advice
I keep an excel file of all Texas games including MM. I typically play numbers by frequency and by position. Position by the individual number and by decades (1-9; 10-19, etc). This year I have played $131 and won $8. So obviously this system is NOT a consistent winner. Plus I only play 2 lines for each drawing and I Megaply because the odds are so much lower getting 5 out of 5 and I'd rather win up to $1 mil rather than $250K. Having said all that, I believe that there is no system that is g

In The Spirit of Sharing : Powerball
The above method I have expanded upon to change the statistic in question, usingArithmetic Mean =INT(AVERAGE(C2:C101))Median =INT(MEDIAN(C2:C101))Geometric Mean =INT(GEOMEAN(C2:C101))Harmonic Mean =INT(HARMEAN(C2:C101))Note the use of the INT function, this is to ensure we remain working with only Whole Numbers (Integers)... you won't find 35.6 on any bet slip for the PB! We didn't need it above because MODE only returns values in the list, which are already whole numbers.

PB Commons/Pattern-What do you think?
OpenMinded,I have tried this but not lining up the years, what I did was compare games side by side 36 draws apart (like game 100 beside game 136 etc...) and noticed some interesting occurrences. (it's in this thread under Powerball off the wall theories ) I number them in series, but I only keep the data from when the matrix changed (5/53 + 1/42) as I feel this makes it a new game and all prior data is irrelevant (they even used the old beitel criterion machines, where now they use the SmartPl

Quad-Duplication Frequency (PB)
I'm new to this forum and site. I did a search to see if anyone else had ever discussed this topic and didn't find anything, but my apologies if it's not a new discussion. My interest lately with the PB is in frequency where 4 of the 5 white balls match any other 4 in any other particular PB draw. I created a macro in Excel to give me all examples of this (much higher percentage than anticipated). Mostly, in the public's version of drawn numbers, quads don't show up as often as when you ha

NY Sweet Millions
Here's a crazy thing I noticed with my YTD spreadsheet. I would have thought that there would be a normal distribution (bell curve) of the numbers from the lowest number of times drawn to the highest. But I dont quite see that. It's definitely a bell curve, but it's skewed to the right a little. For instance, I consider a number that has been drawn eight, nine, or ten times to be a low number of times drawn. Conversely, I say a number that was drawn twenty or more times was drawn a lot. The e
