Choosing How Much Money To (Try And) Win...
What do you know about low playership versus high playership? Let me try to explain it this way. Higher jackpots= Higher playership=Higher #combinations being sold=Higher number of winners. Remember Low playership versus High playership can be applied to the games odds etc. New York sweet million game has better odds than ny lotto, MM, and PB but there is rarely any jackpot winners because of the low playership. buying multiple tickets, but only changing one number?
I was just thinking about this and wondered if anybody ever does this. Basically, if you buy 30-60 tickets and pick all the same number on every ticket, only changing one number, wouldn't this greatly increase the odds? For example, here are the odds for a state lotto picking 1 through 35 here: 5 of 5, 1:324,632 4 of 5, 1:2,164 3 of 5, 1:75 2 of 5, 1:8 But if I bought 31 tickets all with #s (for example) 4, 7, 18, 25 and just change the 5th number on each ticket, I am basical

powerball ripoff
Indeed, scratchoffs have the worse odds. However it's more of a matter of instant gratification, people in general don't like to wait, even if it cost them more, they want to know, thus the reason as to why many sink alot more cash into scratch offs, than they might playing a multi-state game(s). Many States also offer incentitives to players of scratch offs, such as extra prize drawings for losing tickets. (I recently won an extra 50.00 for doing just this). Generally your odds a

'chips, you possess lots of very good energy here but, it'll be completely and utterly wasted on tryin' to figure out the big games. Why? It can't be figured out or cracked...AT ALL because there are just waaaaaayyyy too many possible combinations. Then, the pre-draws must also be figured in. Buddy, if I were you, I'd channel all that energy to Pick 4 where the combinations are manageable and winning is not hard at all. Man, I didn't even give the $640 Million a second thought...neither did I ev

Odds on Misinformation
I think you'll find in this chain at least one posting saying that one number combo has better odds Because we have members who also believe two or even ten chances of winning are not better than one chance, I should have said Nobody should be saying any other one combo has better odds of winning . Players exchange QPs because the numbers don't look right . Instead of saying odds, it's probably better to say more likely to be drawn because of the statistics . I only have the last 2500 Rolli

Odds on Misinformation
nickbrownsfan, Thanks for the offer, but you missed my point. My point is that each and every play is equally a probable winner, and placing numbers into arbitrary subsets has no impact on the odds. Here's an example. The numbers you would select 4-16-27-32-36 = 115. If we take all the plays that would add up to 115 we could call them a subset; an arbitrary subset that we defined, which has no impact on the odds. But we could also say you are less likely to win with this subset than wit

Odds on Misinformation
using another post I in probably in 10 minutes of looking at some numbers the distribution of those numbers hit 2 of 5 in a 3/39 game on this site late last night today in a 5/39 game. The odds were the same every ticket yes as the odds of 1-2-3-4-5 being drawn the difference was I won money with the pair 3-19 the player using 1-2-3-4-5 lost. Your assumtion is based on the fact that a player would make 1 (one) single pick per draw which isnt the normal case for most players that pick their ow

Buying More Tickets Does Not Increase Your Odds.
@ Thrifty - No one is arguing that an individual ticket's odds increase when purchasing additional tickets. But it is a fact that overall your chances do increase period. I don't even understand what spurred you to create such a post. I will not resort to insults or questions about your intelligence as others have. I will however tell you that you are wrong wrong wrong. As long as there is a finite number of combinations, In this case 175million then buying more tickets absolutely increase y

Lottery jackpots may get bigger
I'm wondering about these bigger jackpots that may go up to 500+ million or to even a billion. People have said multiple times that this may not happen, but I'm wondering if the boost from a 20 million to a 40 million starting number will promote larger jackpots by lessening the amount of draws it takes to get to those higher jackpots. As someone said, someone giving the lottery a chance may be more attracted to the 40 million prize versus the starting prize of 12 million in MM, despite the
