Florida Fantasy-5 Players
I like to pick 3 or 4 numbers for each of the lines I'm going to play from the pool of numbers that appeared in the last 10 drawings. Over the life of FF5, an average of 4 of the 5 winning numbers in any given drawing came from the last 10 draws. The down side of doing this is that you're usually picking from a pool of 24 to 26 of FF5's 36 numbers. That's a lot of numbers. But there's no doubt that doing this helps a little . Last night all five winning numbers that were drawn came from within t

1 in 400 million?
This is good stuff from a mathematical point of view. From a practical perspective, theres no way in he11 PB or MM would ever switch to a 6+1 or 7+1 format. People have a hard enough time figuring out how to choose numbers for 5+1. The 4+1 format might be a go. And as you pointed out, there are too many potential prize categories to deal with the more balls you draw. Although the trend for matrix changes has been toward worse and worse odds, I strongly feel when they next change the games th

Play 10 tickets every drawing or $100 once every two weeks?
With the ridiculously high odds the difference is extremely small, but playing 25 tickets for a single drawing gives you a slightly better chance of winning than playing the same number of tickets over multiple drawings, the trade off is that it's impossible to win the jackpot twice when you only play for one drawing. The far better reason to play in a single drawing is that you can play for a bigger jackpot. If you don't have a gambling problem and don't need to have that chance for every d

Play 10 tickets every drawing or $100 once every two weeks?
The overall odds of winning something playing PB is 1:24.8671 and 1:24 for MM. Those odds or probabilities apply the same in each of the ten drawings so your 5 tickets are more likely to match nothing than winning a prize. You can use each of the MM bonus numbers twice on 50 tickets and those 2 tickets each is guaranteed to win something and have a 1:12,607,306 chance of winning the jackpot so once every two weeks is probably the better bet. Might be better to save the $10 for each drawing u

New York Lottery draws identical Take 5 results two drawings in a row
I totally agree with you, as that was my first thought...how did 52 players decide to play the same exact numbers from the previous draw in a Take Five game. It's more likely to occur in a Pick 3 game with a 1,000 to 1 odds but not in a high odds game. Perhaps someone forgot to run the so called test draws and the previous results appeared instead. There is more to this than meets the eye.

Craps Pass Line With Odds Bet - Casino Advantage
Correct, in games of chance where current and future play is independent of past play , knowing how to figure the odds will not make a winning player. (Examples are lotteries, craps and baccarat.) Neither will software or systems which purport some sort of advantage over randomness. Mathematics are just facts, neither favoring nor disfavoring anyone. There is not, and cannot be, anything extra in my play, your play or anyone else's play. In games of chance where past play changes either probabil

Nebraska Lottery marks 30th Anniversary with first $30 scratch-off game
Thank you Todd for putting this in perspective. My initial thoughts too were doesn't pay out very much. Then thought of their population vs mega populated states and their huge lottery payouts and said there is no way they could offer what those guys do. The odds that you posted on two other states vs this really shed a lot of light on NE $30 ticket with the odds much better.
