Picking a key number for a jackpotgame
The larger the odds of a game, the harder it is to pick a key number, because the larger odds games offer a larger distribution of long skips. IMHO. However not impossible. Of course you dont have to play the long skips.
The patterns determine which number to use as power number, and two people may see raw data in different ways.
Some people are more intuitive than others. Logic will not suffice in the long run.
For me I prefer using a

Number of Combo's with Same Last Digit for 5/36 Matrix
If I'm correct in my post above,
Then if I play a combo that has two last digits being the same, the odds of winning a jackpot are 1 in 184,308. (Provided a combo is drawn with two last digits being the same)
That's down from 1 in 376,992 or a 48.9% reduction in the odds. G5

Is the lottery rigged?
I also believe that such folks really have no concept of the odds of jackpot games, especially MM and PB.
There are 100 possible front pair outcomes on pick-3 games, but $1 bet on the winning outcome pays $50. I'm pretty sure that 100 to 1 is about the best odds players can expect to get out of any lottery game and that ought to be enough to understand the payoffs are rigged against the players.
So why would lotteries need to rig the outcome when their best highest payout is 50 cents on

New Powerball feature coming to some states
Whenever I play PB, I add The Power Play option, but I don't play very frequently. When I do play, I'm actually playing for the second place prize of 2 million simply because it carries 11 million to 1 odds versus 292 million to 1 odds to win the jackpot. Yes the second place prize is fixed at 2 million dollars, but I buy three lines containing the same set of five numbers. (The three lines on my ticket are identical and it costs me $9.00) So theoretically, I could win six million dollars if my

Lucky for Life
Tonight I haven't had a lot of time to study my picks, so I have picked 9 WB and 4 Lucky balls and I'm playing a 3 out of 3 system with 12 combinations. I have 3 evens and 6 odds, hoping they will finally favor odds.
For Monday 8-2-21:
WB: 08 13 17 24 33 35 40 41 45 LB: 05 06 07 08

Predicting winning numbers? Fact or fiction?
Well, this rigging business is total nonsense, especially the claims they are watching one, one! person (Stat$talker). Of all the millions of tickets sold, that is where the lotteries make their money. Ticket sales. Ticket sales!
They want and need people to win jackpots. Why. Because it's good for business. Jackpots grow due to incredible odds. If nobody wins. Nobody will want to play. And there have been times when a jackpot has been won on consecutive draws. Why would they let that happen

Will the new three day drawing schedule for Powerball increase the jackpot?
The odds will still be about 1 in 292 million, so we can expect one winning ticket for every 292 million that are sold. The chance that a jackpot will reach any particular size will continue to be the same as it has been because the odds aren't changing.
With the 3rd drawing the weekly cost of playing will increase by 50%. That means that some people will stop playing or wait for a larger jackpot, and some will skip the power play option and continue spending the same $6 per week as they do n

Old thread about Mega Millions
All the banter going on about probability math got me to thinking about an old thread by a very well respected member who many will remember, RJOh.
His efforts to find a winning strategy were really interesting. This goes back to 2008 when the MM odds were way lower than they are now. As far as I know he never won a jackpot, or even a signifcant win. When the thread ended it was then I realized that there is no strategy or method that will beat the incredible odds of a jackpot game. Only pure

Predicting winning numbers? Fact or fiction?
Math or not, the fact is.....
the odds of the game tell you everything you need to know.
Because of the odds of the game, lotteries have no need whatsoever to cheat.
I play simply because somebody is going to win sometime, it may be me...or you.
