Well actually they're using this formula because there are a max of 500,000 tickets to be sold; 4/500,000 = 1x and x = 125,000. My point is that 125,000 is the mathematically equivalent odds... But I say in reality the odds are not that low. They don't divide all ticket numbers sold into four separate pools of 125,000 numbers, and then draw one ticket number from each of the four pools. It's a 5/45 game. While the odds against a 5 number win may be huge, once you have 4 numbers correct the real odds are 1 in 41 of getting the fifth number. I think ball machines should also fall into the pseudo random category, like computer rng. If you knew the parameters of the rng, the results could be predicted. If one could know every physical parameter of a ball machine, dimensions, drop angle, air flows, temperature, and physicists only know what else, the results could be predicted.
