actaully, they don't even use the word 'Odds', they use 'Chance'. from the PA Lottery website: Chance is an undefined mathematical philosophical pseudonym of probability. Real probability has mathematical constructs like: probability of success, probability of failure, odds and their interwoven computational relationships.

I'm pissed. So mad. I've been a loyal fan of this game for years and if they replace it it will probably be another two dollar game with horrible odds. I don't play Mega Millions or Powerball very much and then there is Hot Lotto which is iffy although I like it better than MM/PB because it has better odds, Lucky for Life is a good game but 2 bucks a ticket, Weekly Grand offers a measly prize for 2 dollars a play, Pick 3 isn't a game that gives you large jackpots and I don't like Scratch Offs. S

Can someone who knows about poisson distributions and other such esoteric topics update us neophites on the odds of a rollover, the odds of someone winning, how many combinations have been sold, etc. What will be the jackpot Sat. if no body wins Wednesday? When you win the lottery, I suggest not taking any math classes from Oakland University. Odds of missing the 5th number on a 5/43 Cash 5 game is around 189 out of 190. Odds of missing the Powerball is 25 out 26. So while both seem close, missing the Powerball will be much closer, and that respect, more upsetting to most who only match 5.
