Not that it wasn't hard enough to win at 175 mil to 1 odds, now they made it an astronomical 292 mil to 1 odds to win the jackpot.
A billion dollar jackpot is just a day or two away, but where will it end?
I just hope people don't end up spending their rent, mortgage, food etc money on Powerball tickets thinking they will win.

$450 MILLION: Powerball sales bonanza sparks early jackpot increase
Article is titled: We did the math for the $450 million Powerball jackpot and concluded it's not worth buying a ticket
Then they say, Given the overwhelming likelihood a 96% probability that we wind up matching absolutely nothing and therefore wind up just throwing our $2 out the window, our expected value ends up being $0.14 in the red. We would need a prize of around $500 million to get a positive expected value.
Hey close enough to make it worth the risk. Besides if you don't play t

I feel like the FL lottery is rigged...
So true, rc. With odds of 1:25,827,165, if someone purchases 25,827,164 different tickets for a drawing they could still lose. Also, if someone purchases just 1 ticket for a drawing, they can win. Is that a rigged lottery? No, just luck of the draw.
Have someone put 100 ping pong balls in a sack numbered 1 to 100, pull out six without looking, and have them guess (without seeing the drawn numbers) what numbers they drew. Repeating this process, one should quickly realize how difficult it is

Man in Iraq wins $6.4 million Oregon Lottery jackpot
Haven't looked up the odds, maybe they are much better?
Or he was in Vegas and thought it was connected to the machines.
Personally I would have chosen CAs Superlotto Plus, attractive odds, high jackpots, less attention than multistate MM PB.

special lottery tips from relative in taiwan.
Everyone seems to know the Pick-6/49 odds of an all odd or all even draw is one percent, but fail to realize the exact same odds apply to all low or all high, or getting all six winning numbers among any randomly chosen set of 24/25 numbers. Number reduction is fine so long as there is a valid reason for it. Proportionality is the key.

Play the numbers your research indicates may be drawn. If they include some higher numbers that's great as fewer generally share the prize when s

Florida Lottery Holiday Millionaire Raffle
243,000 out of 750,000 possible. 29 days to go. A daily average of about 17500 needed to sell out.
With 27 days on the market thus far, the daily average is 9000. If we take 22 days at the daily average that will add 198000. Then, taking the remainder 7 days and doubling the daily sales to 18000 per for the holiday frenzy we add another 126000. It would seem total sales may only make it to the 550,000 mark. This would be a nice odds improvement to those who have tickets. Even if the tickets

Powerball sucks
States added PB and MM to attract players to their local games which have better odds of winning smaller jackpots and all they get are complaints about the larger jackpots being too hard to win.
Wake up folks, they will continue to get harder to win until they aren't competing with local games. States prefer to keep all of their sales profits rather than sending 63% of them to a multi-state lottery group.
Ohio just added Lucky for Life to its line-up of games. The jackpot never change but

Playing wisely
Review the lottery games that are available to you and learn their odds. It may be better to play a game that has a better chance of winning big, rather than holding out for the impossible dream of a huge jackpot at very high odds (e.g. MM or PB).
Once you have selected your lottery, study it and see how the numbers behave. Become an expert in that lottery and you will begin to know what types of tickets will win.
Also, I would put all your lottery money into the same game, instead of spre
