Monopoly Millionaires game
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't MMC's 2nd tier prize of $1 million essentially a raffle predicated on whether or not the jackpot is won? I ask that because I'm a fan of any state lottery sponsored raffle. For instance Connecticut is currently running SuperDraw , which is a raffle. It costs $10 per ticket, and there will be a maximum of 275,000 sold. (fewer than 275,000 if the end date/time is reached and all 275,000 tickets are not sold) There is one guaranteed top prize winner of $

New York lottery player wins $321M Mega Millions jackpot
If a person gets angry that someone else (in a different state or not) won a game that has odds of 1 in millions, that person should not be playing in the first place. For that person really has no inkling of what the odds really are. It's ok to dream of winning (Thrifty), but to expect to win?

Anyone playing the new Monopoly Millionaires' Club game?
Some people are going to be constant players, some like me will wait for the jackpot to be capped at $25 million and then some before playing, others will not touch the $5 price per ticket. The odds for possibly winning are poorer than MM or PB before the second prize amounts start going up into the 40's or 50's. While there is the online drawing occurring to bring people onto a game show there will only be 3 people chosen per state to have a chance for $100k then the top winner can choose to

Missouri Triple Play
I guess we do not have any members from Missouri. That comes as a bit of a surprise. I am of the opinion that 4/60 would be a bit easier than 5/39. I could be wrong; I usually am. Now please don't quote me the odds. I don't play odds. I play numbers. Or rather they play me; play me for a fool.

Playing The Lottery Less Often Is The Best Strategy To Win A Lottery Jackpot Someday.
Let's see where I made a mistake. There are 70 numbers that can't be drawn and those numbers create 12,103,014 five number combinations. There are 14 bonus numbers that won't be drawn making 169,442,196 combos when multiplied by 14 that won't match a single number. The overall odds are 1:14.71 of winning something and that is about 6.8% of all the combos which is probably the number you used to calculate. I only included the tickets matching zero numbers without matching the bonus number and

New multi-state lottery game launches Sunday
Because winning a club prize is conditional on the top prize being hit, it varies by sales. The formula is a little sophisticated but basically you calculate the probability of any winner(s) given the number of tickets sold and divide the result of tickets divided by prizes by that value to get the odds. For example, with $20 million in sales (4 million tickets) and 10 second-prizes, the probability of the top prize being hit would be about 5.35%, which gives $1 million prize odds of 1 in 7,478,

New multi-state lottery game launches Sunday
This lottery is a bit of a step in the right direction with the payback percentage increasing to 60%. It plays more like a scratch off. Remember though that on a per dollar basis this jackpot is HARDER to hit vs mega or powerball as the odds are over 70 million to one. Which makes per dollar odds of 350+ million to one. The proper way to play this game is to quite frankly save your bullets for when it hits 25 million as you want to maximize your chance of coming home with a million. Instead o

North Carolina All or Nothing lottery Game
If you play this game 4 times a day you will most definitely lose more than you win unless you hit for the jackpot or $500. I use to play 2 draws a day and noticed if I hit for $2 on one draw I would always lose the other draw. So, I play at most 1 draw a day and sometimes I'll go a few days and not play at all. The overall odds of this game aren't bad, but the odds for the jackpot plus the $2 per tic aren't so good. But, the prospect of $250000 getting me out of debt is hard to pass up.
