$344 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot skyrockets
Unfortunately, the MegaMillions managers have changed their game: MegaMillions Has Changed: The odds of winning a jackpot changed from 1 in 176 million, to 1 in 259 million. It's now almost impossible to win. They increased the odds by 50% so it would be harder to win and the jackpots would increase. I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to ignore this game until it goes to $700 Million. That's what the managers wanted anyway. Then I'll play 10 bucks.

$344 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot skyrockets
I've got odds that even if someone wins, the check wouldn't be cut til next year. Personally after seeing the odds and the amount of low end winners in my state (PA), I'll stick to the one dollar play . It only takes a dollar to win the jackpot and the lower prizes just don't have enough incentive. I guestimate it to hit when its around the 600 million marker. (between two to three states will hit it) Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

$257 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot expands
I don't understand the thought-process by some on here that the current MM jackpot---or even I'm assuming the jackpots of a week or two ago---isn't worth tossing a buck (or two with MP) into the hat because of the new odds matrix. I don't like the change-of-odds either. And I'm not advocating blowing 20 bucks a draw chasing this thing. But risking 1-2 dollars--or even a couple more-- for $89 mil and change after taxes with current JP? That's not really a 'risk', not really a 'gamble'. It puts

My 34million Florida Lotto Picks For Tonight, 11/23/2013
Every state has a lottery combination checker. I read Richard Lustig book, and I read he only plays mega money and fantasy 5. Both have less numbers to play. fantasy 5 has only 35 number to play. s Five numbers in each game.Mega money has only 44 plus 22 ball numbers A lot better odds to win than the lottery itself, which has 53 numbers in Florida. NY has 59 numbers in their pick 6 lottery, which is worse the Florida. I like mega money, because it's only two times a week, not everyday like fantas

Is The Lottery Fixed?
I agree that most people waste a lot of money on JP games despite realizing the astronomical odds against them winning just once in their lifetime. But what I disagree with is the part about it being rigged. The astronomical odds do all the dirty work for the officials. No rigging required. Now, If you want to talk about p-3 and p-4 games, the pre-tests, post-tests, rotation of machines sets and tubes is definitely a way they throw off the natural flow of numbers. If they really want to sa

$205 MILLION: Promise of big jackpots met by new Mega Millions
veganlife125, The increased odds are negligible to win the jackpot... Seriously? The differnece in the increase is an additional 83 million to one. State Pick 6 games have jackpopt odds in the 20 million to one range.

Do some people just play the lottery occasionally but still feel they are in the game?
Hi billionaire2bee, Yes I heard about that guy who only played on occasion and won the big one. Often times it does seem to be people who are not regular players who win. So often I will be getting one ticket for a MM or Powerball game and waiting behind people buying tons of scratchers or draw game tickets and have to wonder if they have any success. I really do believe that someone who plays occasionally will have just as much chance to win someday as the person who plays all the time. When

The 6/49 lottery format
You would think with the 6/49 lottery format being one of the most popular in North America, there would be some well developed systems out there just for it. With MM and PB odds and prices being key toward developing jackpots of a half billion dollars many 6/49 games with jackpots of 20 to 50 millions dollars and much better odds are starting to look more attractive. I've seen wheels using all 49 numbers guaranteeing a match three but they are more than a hundred lines and match threes don't

Motivation to still purchase despite odds...
I play the Powerball, Mega Millions and the Texas Lottery, but not all the time. I'm one of those people who prefer to play when the JP is up there , particularly on the Texas Lottery. I know a guy who enjoys poking fun at people who play the lottery, saying that the odds of winning are about the same whether you play or not, but I pointed out to him that was wrong, that even though the odds of winning the lottery might be one in several hundred million, you have exactly zero chance of win

Motivation to still purchase despite odds...
Just looking to see if anyone can give some good motivational quotes for me to continue purchasing. I myself have won through local SC draws, $500, $1000, and still looking for my $1m. $1m is my goal and i wonder how long many of you have been buying and your frequency. Do you do Powerball, MB, or neither and how much is too much for a weekly budget? I just don't want my dreams to wither away in the wind...and are dreams of a paid off house and car too much to dream/wish for? Thanks all
