why did more people win in the 1990's than today? Lotto.
Thanks for the reply JAP69
I think you meant.... More numbers in the pool decreases the odds of winning. Just a play on words I suppose it depend on which side you're on right?
Increases their odds of winning more like it. lol

It now appears certain that Megamillions will go 6 months...
Your first sentences in each of your first two paragraphs confirm the last sentence my my original post.
Thanks for that.
Your second sentence is pretty much nonsense. Expectation values are a truer measure of the relative value of bets, than absolute odds.
In fact, not only is the current MM a better buy, but the actual nearly astronomical odds for both games are relatively close.

Have you at times temporarily abandoned MM & PB for the lower hanging fruit
I don't mess with PB or MM.
My game is Hot Lotto ... a 5+1 game with way better odds.
I have been considering trying Kansas Super Cash for awhile ... another 5+1 game with even better odds ... but not typically retirement-level jackpots.

Proof that the Lottery is RIGGED
I know how you feel. It can't possibly be the huge odds stacked highly against the player/bettor.
All kidding aside, I know there are bad apples, but the point I think I'm trying to make is that if your concerns didn't even exist, you'd still have to contend with those odds I mentioned earlier, really high ones.lol
If every aspect of the lottery was up and up, you'd still need nothing less than a miracle to win the JP.
No sugar coating, just the plain facts.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
What is the probability that One(1) of the Lottery's 5 picks is among your 28?
Two(2), Three(3), Four(4), Five(5)?
With all the free lottery odds calculator on the Internet, that probably has been calculated many times. Besides, every serious lottery player has one in his tool box as I do. You just calculate the odds of matching five of fifty-six with 98,280 lines.
I think I saw those results posted earlier in this thread.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Boney............. While you were talking in circles you stated the concept perfectly.........
, beat the odds implies doing better than the stated odds through skill.
And I'm not implying it, I'm saying it. Me and all the other 5000 LP members who are on line every day making predictions using skills that you don't have, or even have the ability to comprehend.

Do we lottery players have any rights in game changes?
I always wonder if we the lottery players have any rights when it comes to changes in games matrixes. In the last 8 years there has been lots and lots of changes to the lottery games. Those changes are not to increase the odds of winning, as you expect. They are to make it harder to win. The commissioners probably don't even hold a vote on the issue. They push it through, military style, justifying that nobody is forcing anybody to play. Which is true Just the other day they announced that Hot L

Post your scratch ticket results
It would be pretty cool to send tickets to others from around the state but nobody would want the ones from where I buy them in the wilkes-barre/scranton area. They're terrible! I think I'd have a much better chance finding a good winner from a ticket in the Pittsburgh or Philadelphia area. However, lately many people in this area have been winning big money on the Cash 5.
Regarding the 7 ticket, I had high hopes for this ticket given the odds, but the better-than-average odds are due to the

Would you still play Mega Millions if your state lottery's jackpot was bigger?
I play MM PB for the big jackpots and also the huge second prizes. For 3 lousy dollars you can hit PB second prize of
$2,000,000 cash and the odds for that is only 1 in 5,153,632.65. Most state lottos are 6/49 and the odds of hitting
the jp is 1 in 13,983,816 and the jp is an annuity which means you end up collecting 1/3 of the original jp.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Ignore the fact the percentages favored the jackpot not being won by 5 to 1, the one winning ticket was still only one out of over 32 million tickets sold. Nobody beat the odds, they just won, right?
No they did not beat the odds. They were victims of innumeracy.
(now wealthy victims i might add)
And I dont think it was a quick pick. It was a partial quick pick
