Which one will have better odds of winning?
You can buy 5 tickets for the sweet millions for the same price. So the odds per 5 dollars spent would be 5 in 3.8 million, which is better.
Assuming that all you care about is the chance to win a large prize, then I'd say that the sweet millions is preferable, but it probably has a lower overall expected return that the scratch offs.
I'd say if your intent on playing to try to win a large amount, buy the occasional lotto ticket, rather than scratch off. You get about the same od

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Then you must figure odds different because a standard blackjack game uses 8 decks with 32 Aces and if the player to my right gets an Ace, my chances of getting an Ace are reduced by one. And any other player getting an Ace will effect the odds against getting an Ace.
Right, but there hitting or standing has no effect. If they take an Ace out, then another Ace is slightly less likely. If they pull something besides an ace, and ace is slightly more likely (by a different amount.)

Do some number combinations have better odds?
I would welcome being proven wrong if anyone could do it with something besides words and name calling.
Jimmy4164 wanted to know the odds of having all 5 winning numbers in a subset of 38 of the 56 numbers and why a particular subset would have better odds. I assume he missed the beginning of the thread where that was explained along with an explanation of picking numbers from a list of numbers in the order they had most recently occurred in previous drawings.
Had he and other critics re

Do some number combinations have better odds?
In other words boney, if someone or something wins at a rate that beats the stated odds and I want to call it better odds why do you think you have some authority to make me call it otherwise.
You can call it standard deviation all you want or getting lucky no one is faulting you for it.....
You and moe and larry are the ones all pissy and upset and nagging and complaining and ect, ect ect......
Moe talks about bandied about ideas but has never posted one single time without whining and

Do some number combinations have better odds?
That 2004 article really changed the minds of at least two would be lottery players. Seven years later that same mathematical lottery genius didn't know what a hit/skip chart was so he couldn't figure out the probabilities. After an explanation, instead of giving any useful ideas, he chose to give his usual opinion on why playing lottery games is a bad bet.
Last night someone won $89 million on probably less than a $10 bet. All the odds and probabilities against winning a huge jackpot are use

Look up for Pool size trend, choose a string
Whatever method you use to develop/evolve your system or select picks, Predicted probabilities related to momentary data distibution(draw trends within certain time frame, find parameters to locate such trends, it could be sums, roots, pi,mirrors etc) is effective way to win a higher payout. This direction comes with patience, and modifying your waging style, because you are not dealing with absolute probability( a bit of stretch, absolute P is not real, Probabilty is always conditional!), but r

Do some number combinations have better odds?
LOL. You live inside SUCH A BOX, boney. lol. lol. The word NEVER as applied to a human being is maybe 75 - 100 years depending on good fortunes and good health.
You don't seem to get that I agree with you in principle and Im not reconstructing 1+1........
But at the same Im happy to sacrifice better odds in a 1000 years from now to get BETTER ODDS now.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Is this a serious question?
Because if you do match one bonus ball, there's also a chance that you matched MORE than one bonus ball.
If you add the chance of just that ball, plus the odds of that ball and (1,2,3,4 and 5) white balls, it would be exacly 1 in 46 odds. What I don't understand is how the clearly mathemetically illiterate are going to make convuluted arguments that they no are non sense.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
The ODDS of a game are a function of the rules of the game, and don't change unless the rules change. When you buy more tickets, the ODDS also stay the same, because the rules did not change. IF you divide your [actual or expected] winnings by the amount you pay for your tickets, you'll see what I mean.
If you really believe the lottery commissions would find it necessary to send people to disrupt your ability to discover ways to win on purpose, then you have a bigger problem than I originall
