Do some number combinations have better odds?
Because you have no idea what numbers will come up, and combinations that are already picked and are not already picked have the same odds. So if I have the same odds of winning, but a lower chance of sharing the Jackpot if I win, that's a superior bet. Like I said - that effect is relatively small in games that don't offer pari-mutual prize pools. But B/C I almost exclusively play NJ Cash 5, which distributes ALL prizes pari-mutually, it significantly increases my ROI.
Of course I'd rat

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Probability isn't a theory nor are calculations written in stone when the results are made by a random selection. In 10,000 pick-3 drawings there is a probability that each digit in each digit position will be drawn 1000 times, but when you look at the results some digits are drawn more than 1000 times and others drawn less. The same is true of any group of 28 numbers; over time some will be drawn more than probability and some less.
And the odds can't be blown away.
There is a 1 in 39 p

Mathematics and the Lottery
i dont remember one relevant example on how to beat the lottery? Probability is about odds. The game is about the payouts. If you mix both you get expectancy. Lottoboner might have learned the odds at school but not the expectancy. The only thing that you have in your hand is how much you are prepared to loose. If there was a sure way to predict numbers, we might have a good go at it.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Yes, you would. I really can't argue with you if you don't think you would need a proper understanding of the knowledge behind probability theory. And the odds can't be blown away. You can't just say things and have them be true. That's be crazy. You have to prove them before they are factual.
Which is actually really simple. They teach you that in like 5th grade. Of course, they don't go on to teach the other important aspects of statistic analysis, like Standard Deviation and Confidenc

How many people are obsessed with the lottery?
Hi everyone,
I'm just wondering how many people are obsessed with the lottery. I go back and forth on this. Sometimes I get to be a bit manic about my obsession with winning the lottery and am not realistic enough about the fact that I would have a much better chance of being hit by lightening than actually winning the lottery. Other times it seems that I can't imagine not winning the lottery someday. When I feel more desperate about my life then it seems I have to buy tickets of some form da

Do Some Number Combinations Have Better Odds? No All Combinations Have The Same Chances Of Winning.
Assuming the RNG selects any five of 5,006,386 combinations, the odds of having three lines using the same number depend on the random selection process so I doubt will find the odds that way. One number could be on all five lines and be a no show on the next 294 five line tickets. We can check all of the results in the 59 number matrix and see how many times one number was drawn three time in five consecutive drawings and divide that number by the total drawings to give us the percentage.

The book on increasing your lotto odds
Had to look up the title again but it's called: Learn how to increase your chances of winning the lottery
Has anyone else bought it? I thought it was a waste of money. Every other page (on a thin book to begin with) was a full page graphic; no acutal content. I'm a developer by trade and recently got into crunching statistic numbers. I was hoping there would be some insight into different ways to run numbers... no suck luck. There may have been one or two useful pieces of information in

Take me under your wing. I wanna take this up as my new hobby.
The best advice I can offer you is to play regularly (but dont over spend on it, play only what you can afford to lose) and to be patient. Most people after winning large amounts of money have something in common. And that is they made a statement like this;
I've been playing for years but I hardly ever won anything
Know that the odds of losing are far better than the odds of winning. So losing is normal, most people lose more often than they win. Be optimistic and keep a postive attitud

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Nothing to judge because the facts speak for themselves. Three predictors had enough five number matches (3) to show a profit playing a 4932 combo 4 if 4 wheel and two others still proved some number combinations do have better odds. Knowing that isn't much help to the huge majority of lottery players that spend $5 or less on MM drawings. At best we can say they only have a 0.005% chance of matching five numbers in a few drawings compared to the 0.000125% chance in every drawing.
