Do some number combinations have better odds?
Proportionally, getting one five number match every 15 drawings using 28 numbers would be the same as one in 102 drawings using 20 numbers. Probability is based on the total combinations in a group of 20 or 28 numbers, but if you take the numbers off the balls, statistically a group of around 20 numbers from the previous five drawings might have a high percentage of three numbers matches. Couple that with a group of 8 with a high percentage of two number matches, the probability of those 28 n

Texas All or Nothing Prizes Too Small??
I'm not surprised by the results at all. On paper it looks like an easy win. It's not. Just look at the odds. That tells you everything you need to know. I've played 3 times this week, and each time get 5,6, or 7 numbers which of course is what the odds say most people will get most of the time. Looking at the sales info on TLC for the game, they are making money on this game, basically because it costs $2 for a ticket. If someone does hit a jackpot then TLC will be in the red for that partic

Winning The Lottery Is A Mind Game.
No. I dont play powerball very much. New York only got PB recently. Once in a while i will play a line of MM. I prefer to play games with better odds. I dont like to play more than $5 a draw. When i start working again full time, i will do an all out blitzkrieg on the sweet million or lotto( worse odds, but two plays for a dollar)

Do some number combinations have better odds?
I bought a $20 powerball ticket a few months ago. I did not win anything With the odds of winning anything at 1 out of every 31.8 tickets, you only had a 31% chance of winning back 4 bucks. There has to be another lottery game in NY that gives better odds on a $20 bet and a much better chance of winning something. Just saying.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Thanks, Ronnie. I agree 100%. It is about reducing our odds. I apologize if I came across like I was questioning your ability to hit the numbers or sound like I was suggesting another system. I do exactly what you do. I pick numbers based on my selection criteria and plug them into the system and go from there. I was just making a point that hitting 4 is still leaps and bounds from hitting 5. Still possible, but not the same. As I mention in another post I used a bad example for comparing 4 h

New York Dream Team 9/1/12 - 9/30/12
lexi if we look at the real picture being that we all wanna hit str8 the odds do not change they are still 1 in 1000 however you do not have the option of a combo or box play obviously because triples are all the same digit but remember this if it hits you got an automatic str8 hit so not only do you get more bang for your wager you can actually become very wealthy if you time and bet on a trip at the right time so i disagree with it being a sucker bet because theres alot of players who have mad

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Didn't find any five number matches but a 28 combo 2 if 2 matched four numbers. There really isn't much anyone can do to place the 23 numbers in this example or the 28 into the correct order that matches five before the drawing. It's easy after the drawing; just look for a four number match and change the order by exchanging the missing number for the correct number. The odds against using the correct order to match five numbers is the same whether the order is numerical, random, or a defined

Texas Has a New Game Coming
Thanks. Apparently the odds of winning the $250K are 1:2,704,156 vs MM's of 1:3,904,701 for winning the second prize of $250K. Very good odds!! I would definitely be playing, if it were available in the New England area. BTW we both share the same birthday. Congrat's. I always play 2 and 13 in all my numbers.

Do some number combinations have better odds?
When playing 28 numbers there is a possibility of having 5 or 6 consecutive numbers and/or 5 or 6 numbers in the same decade and when playing a large combo 4 if 4 wheel, several lines may have 4 or 5 of those numbers when the numbers are entered by numerical order. The object is to increase your odds so you don't want an extra amount of very low percentage combos. There is a 46 combo 2 if 5 of 56 number wheel on LP that's probably hardly used, but it reduces the odds of matching five numbers

New Arkansas Lottery jackpot game kicks off today
