State Raffles. What are your thoughts on them?
I personally love Raffles that are run by lottery commissions. Usually the raffle price is higher ($10 or $20 a ticket) but the odds of winning are much higher than even Cash 5 games. I bought 3 PA Millionaire Raffle tickets when I vacationed there in May. The draw is July 6, 2013. The odds of winning $1M are 1:125,000 and even better for the many small prizes. I would have bought the Illinois ones if it were possible to buy online directly from the Illinois lottery commission. Thoughts?

What are the chances that a person be at the right place at the right time to win a jackpot?
Hi everyone, This morning I was hearing on the radio about the raffle my state lottery is doing in July. I haven't played that because only one person will win and you only win 50 percent of the raffle prize. A few years ago around Christmas we had a good raffle but not anymore. The reason I mentioned this is because it got me thinking of how truly hard it is to be at the right place at the right time to win a jackpot. One of the reasons I've been playing less these many months (other than be

Have you ever won lottery special promotions?
Have you ever won not the lottery itself but promotions like Second Chance Replay for scratch off, coupons when you buy x number of tickets, raffle when you enroll with their websites etc? I have about 500 entries in the last 2 years and I have enrolled at every free raffle I can and I never won anything.

California Raffle Drawings
Well, strangely, it looks like the California Lottery has ended the raffle early. The raffle, which should have had its last drawing on June 16, ended on March 31.

California Raffle Drawings
Yep, and I bet they decided to cancelled the Raffle promotion early because they didn't want to deal with all the problems. They still have the Opt-in-to-Win promotion, but I'd rather have the raffle back. I dunno, just feels better having numbers in my hand that I can see, rather than people just *randomly* selecting some emails a few times a month. Is mine really in there? How many, etc? Who knows, that was scheduled to run through June as well, so they could decide to renege on that too.
