Oh this is not a scam. The nigerian lotto offers great prizes like witchcraft for dummies books, instant heat bricks of cow dung, and ready to eat shish kabob scorpions. Its very popular. I would love to get one of those texts.

Whenever you receive something of this nature you should always click on the Report Spam or Abuse button at the top of the message so Todd knows what's going on. It seems that any time you see Nigeria and lottery in the same sentence it's a scam.

Just the usual Nigerian or Chinese scam email from time to time...automatic delete! I can imagine if Dateline came to Illinois, he would uncover quite a few Patel type scams since Illinois is home to a large number of immigrants of both the legal and illegal backgrounds and Ilinnois requires SSN verification before you can claim a prize at the lottery HQ.

The lottery has video showing who bought the ticket and probably the car they were driving, so the investigator has probably already interviewed this person . they know exactly what has happened. They are just calling Mr shaw's bluff. Lottery officials know rules were broken, so they have always known shaws claim would be denied. They are just trying to get him to confess to his scam.
