Based on the article it seems that the person who won, won in May 2025 and was waiting nearly a year to cash it in. I don't know what the time limit is on cashing in those winning tickets but having a winning ticket collecting dust for 1 year or being squished in your wallet for a long period of time will probably wear it down.... Additionally you are even more correct...this winning ticket makes EZ match look like even more of a scam!
