What is a lottery system? What distinguishes a lottery system from guesses, dreams and quick picks?
By design states lotteries are designed so 45-50% of tickets sales is profits for the states. When you consider that 5% go to retailers for selling the tickets and another 5-10% goes for advertising and operating cost, players as a group are lucky to get 40% of their money back. To attract more players 30% of sales usually go to build up the jackpot leaving 10% to pay the lower tier prizes. Jackpots have high odds and their cash values seldom exceed the cost of buying all the possible combinatio

By Monday morning, more than 117,210 raffle tickets had been sold and will be entered into all five of the game's preliminary bonus drawings as well as the finale drawing. The first bonus drawing is

How long does it take you to hit $500 ??
I never one 500 - most I've won is 100 dolalrs, but I usually do a 2 dollar one b/c we've got a pretty good one over here in NJ. The one time I bought a 10 dollar one, somebody walked in and bought the next two, and came back in with a 500 dollar winner. This 10 dollar one's in the same series as the 2 dollar one, I believe the odds of winning 500 are similar to winning 75-150 on the 2 dollar one.
It's rare, and I barely scratch anymore. Occasionally I buy a couple just b/c if I ask, a c

What Does It Take To Win (Mathematically Speaking?)
That was done a few years back in the Virgina lottery when it was a 6/40 games and the cash value of its jackpot exceeded the odds of winning it. The group that did it took over terminals at 3 seven/eleven stores for three days and attempted to play all the possible combinations. They were the only jackpot winners and with other smaller prizes won, they made a nice profit.
After that most states changed their rules so no one person or group could control their lottery terminals more than 15 m

Oregon Lottery draws St. Patrick's Raffle
Illinois also had a St. Patrick's raffle....against my better judgement, I purchased one of those tickets (I have played like 5 times and never won even $1,000). I also noted that the RNG picker selected heavily from the beginning and the ending and less so in the latter middle where I purchased my ticket. So I guess the strategy of waiting up until the final days or the buying at the beginning was the way to go. In any case, I think I would rather wager $20 on the MegaMillions drawing tonight (

How Many Pick 5 Lines Did You Play ?
Dayum that is a shame....
BTW - I checked out New Yorks Take 5 ...They play 1-39 balls. FL uses 1-36 Balls, so its actually easier in FL vs NY in terms of odds. NY should increase the jackpot size considering the odds =)
I guess FL has more people that play and we have a much higher payout due to more ticket sales..
Good luck man!

Winning A Lottery Jackpot Today
I'm still waiting for a jackpot winner to show up wearing a LP cap or/and a LP shirt. With over a 100,000 members who follow the games and play them consistently using systems, QPs, dreams and what ever else can be thought up, you would think it would have happened by now.
I know some games are easier to win than others but it's not always the ones with the smallest number pools. I play MegaMillions, PowerBall and Ohio Classic which is a 649 game. While I got my biggest win (5/6) ever playing
