Texas Two Step Odds
After re-reading, I believe I know what you're asking. The odds of having the four winning white ball numbers in the same line as the bonus ball number 21 are 1:1,832,600. The odds of having the four winning white ball numbers in one line somewhere on your tickets would be 35:53,900 (assuming the machine didn't give you any duplicate lines).
The answer I think you're looking for is like this: If the bonus ball were drawn first, and it was 21, and you had one line with a 21 bonus ball number,

Just Be A Player To Win Mega Millions And Powerball
In the sense that it is true; that all you need to do to win is have a winning line, I'm sorry, but I don't buy the statement that you do not increase your odds of winning if you buy more lines.
Now, I understand a PERSON has X odds of winning - and that is assuming they buy ONE ticket, but you won't be able to convince me that I don't have any better chance of winning if I buy one ticket or 100 tickets.
When we buy in pools at work, where we have 10-12 people so we buy 10-12 tickets, are

How many time have you quit playing the lottery
While I do play one of the jackpot games almost every week, I don't feel I'm addicted to playing because when I don't play I don't consider it quitting. I like to pick my combinations using a system I'm developing that takes about an hour to update and recalculate before I pick any numbers. If playing doesn't excite me enough to spend the time updating the system and making out play slips then I don't play. Playing lotteries is entertainment for me.
And too, I don't play the number games beca

Mega Millions: $224 million lottery drawing tonight
LOL, you're right.
I went last night but I didn't play Mega. I played another, lower jackpot, better odds game. I don't think I'll play ML at all tonight. I thought I would play above $200M, but I guess I decided against it; the odds are so poor. Perhaps I'll play if no one wins tonight. I'll know at about 10:30PM PST. That's what I like about this site's sister site, USAMEGA.COM. They're very fast.

Lotto Texas
I am one of those who will be playing but doesn't usually. I've also noticed that this game doesn't like winners, in spite of technically better odds. I've also won more win Mega Millions. I've even won more with Powerball back when I occasionally got tickets in Oklahoma. But still, the cash value is twice the odds.
I've never believed in overdoing it, so I'll be spending just two dollars for one line of my numbers and one quick pick. Just enough to throw my hat in the ring.

Combinations
Thanks winlotta and KY Floyd for responding.
KY Floyd, I am familiar with the odds as BobP is pretty clear that those are just odds and that ultimately it all comes down to the 13 million odd combinations. I am looking to play around with the sets of numbers to see if and how I can select the set (of for eg. 24 numbers) containing the 6 winning numbers. The way I figure is that it should be easier to select 1 from 103+ (in the case of 24 number sets/combinations) than it is to select 1 fro

POLL: Jackpot amounts
Even with a system you need a lot of luck to win big. For the last PowerBall drawing, using my system I reduced my WB pool to 43 numbers and my PB pool to 15 numbers and had all the winning numbers and the best I did with 15 lines was a 0+1 for $3. I had two 2+0 and with a little luck one or them could have been a 2+1 for $7. Although I reduced my odds of winning the jackpot from 1:176M to 1:14M, I would have needed a lot of luck to get a 5+1 but I liked those improved odds of doing it using my

STATistic Gatherer
what that means is two numbers at the same time appearing: 10% and 10% is 0.01 or 1%. Therefore if you were to look at say 1 million drawings you will see that the average of hits will be one in a hundred just as expected by the respective probability. However in between you will possibly see a long skip like 1129 which is 11 times the average. But, the opposite can happen too. In say 100 drawings you can have the result show up 4 times which means it is ahead of the average.
The point is the
