Give Me 5 Numbers for Powerball
As far as the odds go, probably one in a bazillion.
The odds are about the same as any other combination if we exclude the good vibes factor. We have at least 6 people hoping their number is drawn and don't forget all the other people that might play that combination too.
It only cost a buck.

How do I prove my state lottery's CGNs are fixed?
Dear benmas:
Option 4) play and win! :) The patterns in the numbers repeat themselves too often to be ignored. Tell you what... hand input the results of just one game of your choice from 5 years past into an excel sheet. What you will see are inexplicable patterns in the numbers. Clusters of the same numbers and pairs repeating themselves within short time spans. Even the most casual observer will come to the same conclusion, that statistically this shouldn't be happening. Therefore, ob

How Many Past Draws Do You Look At?
Thanks for all the replies! I spend most of my budget on the 5/35 game and on the 6/42 only when the jackpot is large enough where I can justify going from 1/324,632 odds to 1/5,245,786. Although the odds on the pick 5 seem good compared to the pick 6, the most I've gotten on the pick-5 is 4/5 a few times...still waiting on the 5/5.
I'm going to try to weasle the info out of the lottery on when/how often they change the balls, but benmas has a point that the balls are manufactured to close s

Today ends my scratch off days.
First of all let's talk about scratch off's. Here you have a scratch off in your hand. You have no information at the time of purchase of it's history. Was the person before you a winner? If so how much $1.00? How many winners are left? Has it been won already by the time you bought the scratch off? The only reason to buy an instant scratch off is for that very reason, instant dissatisfaction or instant satisfaction. I'm not saying playing scratch is a total waste of time but it's one of the wor

How to Reduce from 40 to 6 winning numbers
What the . . . didn't you get the memo? Everyone else on LP is already a millionaire . . . shows what happens when you snooze.
It's soooo simple. Just write out the numbers 01-40 on a napkin. Some old drunk showed me this can't loose system in a bar for a beer. After you've done all the hard work of writing the numbers out do the following.
As the drawings take place, cross off the numbers that have been drawn.
When you get down to 10 left, wheel those numbers in all their 210 pos

powerball changes
The last change to Powerball was jutified because there were too many jackpots being hit; thus the increase in ball numbers. To passify the players, they slightly raised the prizes and dreamed up that dumb annuity spread. Once again the passifier would be larger jackpots. The price for higher jackpots? More balls, thus greater odds. You can't get higher jackpots without higher odds. Baisic fact of life. I would like to see them be compatible with MegMillion's prize amounts, while keeping the pow

Mega lottery winner to stick with Ford, ex-wife
Sorry Captain- The odds do work that way, in fact the only way to
lower your odds is to buy more unique tickets. Try making your case
to the Washington State Lottery, see . . .

I'll never win any Jackpot
The problem is wheeling 12 numbers with odds of *1:4823 of having all 5 winning numbers is not always better than wheeling 20 numbers with odds of *1:246 of having all 5 winning numbers. When gambling, both risk and cost has to be evaluated in your strategy. For example, a full wheel of 12 numbers have 792 lines but an abbreviated wheel of 792 lines of 20 numbers is likely to have more combinations that win a prize. Both would cost the same but one is likely to win more than the other and this p

Unusual Results in FL tonight
MegaMoney, a game with odds of 1 in 2,986,522, had more winners than Fantasy 5, a game with odds of 1 in 376,992
One lucky winner hit Fantasy 5, with a jackpot of $263K, but the MegaMoney which had rolled to $2 million had 4 lucky winners. Each will win $500,000 but that's paid over 20 years. The lump sum payout is usually between 65-70%. So taking an estimated cash value of $1,350,000 divided by 4, each winner will get approx $340,000 less tax.
Actually, my first reaction was wrong. The

do you ever buy lottery based on having a lucky feeling?
It has been my experience that had I listened to that pecular feeling I had on several different occasions, I would at worst be a second tier PB/MM winner and at best the jackpot winner of those games...that is, had I blocked all the other things that were happening those days, and really listened AND acted upon those feelings. Oh well, there will be future drawings and I have learned my lesson several million times over.
On another note, I do not play scratch off (if) games as you have to b
