Georgia lawmakers question lottery bonuses
Not to defend the Georgia Lottery, but you should know a few things about odds and statistics. It's impossible to predict Pick 3 numbers because it's a random event, but the odds of triples being drawn is about 1 in 1000. That means with 2 drawings a day, you'd expect triples to come out about once every year and a half. And I'm not a fan of the higher and higher price points that Lotteries seem to be going to, but a number of high roller players seem to like them. Most of the time,

Matrix change: Powerball to get much harder to win?
Why don't both MM and PB just change their matrix to 8 white balls out of 1-100, plus 1 bonus and 1 super bonus red/gold out of 1-80???? That would effectively drive odds through the stratosphere having the highest jackpots on the face of the earth then anyone who can't count or calculate odds can be happy. Best solution to driving lottery jackpots higher, more money in coffers, is to remove all income tax liabilities from lottery winnings.

Matrix change: Powerball to get much harder to win?
I'm glad it's PowerBall that's considering a matrix change instead of MegaMillions since MM is played in my state. I think there could be a point where winning a prize with the multi-state lotteries become so hard that players will no longer be attracted from local games. If however its odds of winning a million dollars are similar to those of the local games when their jackpots are a million dollars then it will continue to attract those players. Since most local games starting with mill

Matrix change: Powerball to get much harder to win?
A friend of ours just couldn't wait for California to join Mega Millions, as the newspapers were running stories of possible $500,000,000 jackpots. Well, no one has seen anything even close to that yet and all that happned were already impossible odds where made more impossible. guru101 The Illinois Little Lotto went form 5 / 30 to 5 /39. Those nine numbes took the odds from 142,506 to one to 575,757 to one.

Idaho woman hits fifth lottery jackpot in five years
In all of the times I won anything over a few dollars, it was with one of my systems. Do an honest backtest of your system vs. a RNG method (if you're a programmer or know one). Whatever you are using needs to overcome whatever the takeout ratio is. In nj it's 50 percent on the daily number games, that is you need to win twice as often as the odds indicate just to break even! Less numbers are better than more (don't bet against yourself too much, play #s in harmony like STR with matching PAIRs);

Idaho woman hits fifth lottery jackpot in five years
I think it's safe to say that second-chance drawings offer your best odds of winning. Most of those promotions are based on the number of entries received. They may involve smaller prizes, but have fewer potential winners. Look for promotions that are unpopular, or try to guage which drawing the fewest people are entering. I'm thinking of a second-chance promotion that Missouri did with the MLB games. The Cardinals are by far the most popular team in the state, so more tickets were produc

The Implications of Cracking the Code..
I disagree, I think you might be surprised by what real mathematicians say about lotteries and maybe embarrassed to learn what you think they've said wasn't said by anyone who understands math. People who dream of winning the lottery by buying a bunch of tickets are not mathematicians. It was probably a mathematician who figured the payout amounts that make coming up with a system that regularly beat the odds impractical. You don't have to be a mathematician to know the number of combinati

Is it worth buying a large number of tickets once a year?
I voted to buy $20 lotto tickets weekly, for the following reasons. My understanding is that each ticket will have a 1 in 175,711,536 million odds of winning (megalotto). No matter how many tickets you buy, the odds of winning for each ticket will remain the same (please note: I am a math-challenged person -- - my eyes go this way when I do mental math). The joy of anticipation of winning the lottery is spread out throughout the year. (Wow- I've just realized that I am now a pathologic gam

Two-time lottery winner picks up $15 million
Robert Hong had a better chance of opening an oyster in his Kirkland Lake restaurant and finding a pearl than winning a lottery. But he did it twice. Win the lottery that is not find a pearl. On Saturday, Hong discovered he had picked all six numbers in the Lotto 6/49 draw, giving him a $15 million jackpot. Just six months ago, he had a $340,000 win with a friend. I really couldn't believe it, Hong said after picking up his prize at the Toronto prize office on Tuesday. To win

Keno experiment. (49 tickets)
It is weird that there aren't that much persons that like keno games... It's not so weird when you realize that keno offers the worst odds bar none in the casino and is considered the be all end all of sucker games. Google keno worst odds and you'll see.
