When things like this happen we all throw our hands up in the air. But if you really think about it, if you figured it out your odds were actually better at winning. This seems to be the case if the players stopped playing those numbers. In daily 3 that takes out 280 possible combinations out of 1000 which isn't bad. I assume these pairs are only in position i.e. 68X, X80, 6X0. Odds of pair win: 1/100... Odds of 3 pairs having at least 1 win: 3/100... This should win about every 2 weeks or so in random play with Midday and Evening drawings, so if a backtest shows it's at least once every 1 week or more then it's worth adding!

True, but in order to win, you have to be in the hunt, be a bit closer, play what are 'better' choices. Four consecutive is indeed very rare, and so is having four numbers from one group (in this case, 11 thru 20) - it's happened, but not enough for me to give it serious consideration. A week ago I heard on the news that the lottery sold 1.6 million tickets. Just where do they get their math? Based on odds and payouts I figured the sales to be over 6 million tickets. This did not include those tickets with zero and 1 number on them. The odds for those should be about 1 in 3. I would estimate that there were at least 3 million of those.
