small multi line lottos
the chances of catching 7,8,9,10 are in fact elimanated. Sure they are, but look at the odds and payouts for those prizes compared to 5 and 6. If you spend $12 you could expect to win a (multi-line) match 5 and get back $2, or 16.7% of what you spent. For the match 10 you could expect that spending $65,605 would get you $2000, or 3% of what you spent. All lottery bets can be expected to be losers, but the match 5 or 6 ar ebetter bets (or less worse bets) than the match 10. If you're g

Tenn. players picked up on new odds before lottery revealed glitch
When things like this happen we all throw our hands up in the air. But if you really think about it, if you figured it out your odds were actually better at winning. This seems to be the case if the players stopped playing those numbers. In daily 3 that takes out 280 possible combinations out of 1000 which isn't bad. The 50% payout ratio of the game still wouldn't allow you to make money buying all the tickets but definetly cut the odds down. It is kind of funny. All the mistakes in drawin

pairs ...how to catch them
I assume these pairs are only in position i.e. 68X, X80, 6X0. Odds of pair win: 1/100... Odds of 3 pairs having at least 1 win: 3/100... This should win about every 2 weeks or so in random play with Midday and Evening drawings, so if a backtest shows it's at least once every 1 week or more then it's worth adding!

Most don't play enough numbers to profit at Pick 3 !
Thanks 4thquarterbabe. You understand what I'm saying .... If you want to win there is a level you have to play up to .....or otherwise you can't get any sympathy form real players or ( folks who know the odds). RJOH .... Just my opinion ..... most of the people posting odds are not serious and don't really play those numbers. If they did play them ....I bet they would think and win alot more often. Posting same numbers for all states and the like. Thats just Silly.... not

Hoosier Lotto in a dry spell
I'm not inclined to believe the probability lecturer about this game going this long without a winner only being a fraction of a percent. The spokesman said THIS MONTH, there has been about 3 million tickets each week, but everyone must keep in mind it took time to grow to that number of tickets. 6 months ago, there were a lot less. Also keep in mind 3 million tickets doesn't mean 3 million unique combinations, there are duplicates to consider. Even at 3 million UNIQUE combinations, that's only

True, but in order to win, you have to be in the hunt, be a bit closer, play what are 'better' choices. Four consecutive is indeed very rare, and so is having four numbers from one group (in this case, 11 thru 20) - it's happened, but not enough for me to give it serious consideration. For me, though, I'd still aim for the 'better odds' of two numbers from one group, a 2/3 or a 3/2, and other things like that. But that's just me. That doesn't mean I NEVER play 2 groups hitting, or three nu

any thoughts please
In the 6/49, the odds are 6c5 * 43c1 / 49c6, or 6 (ways of choosing 5 of the numbers you played) * 43 (ways of choosing 1 number you didn't play) / 13,983,816 (possible combinations) 258 in 13,983,816 = 0.001845% , about 1 in 50,000 odds

Hoosier Lotto
A week ago I heard on the news that the lottery sold 1.6 million tickets. Just where do they get their math? Based on odds and payouts I figured the sales to be over 6 million tickets. This did not include those tickets with zero and 1 number on them. The odds for those should be about 1 in 3. I would estimate that there were at least 3 million of those. Overall, the total sales should be in the range of 9 to 10 million tickets. Ok, where is the other 8 million? Let me tell you, I have played

Info On RNG'S
The only ways to increase your odds of winning are to play more - or in a double-barrel game like Powerball, to buy numbers covering all red ball numbers (thereby giving yourself a guaranteed win and at least a discount in the game - you basically buy 42 plays for $39). The only other possible hope for increasing one's odds is to assume fault in the draw process and to play the most common numbers for mechanical draw machines or the last numbers drawn for an RNG (or some other RNG issue like a

Meadowlands (9/11) 8th Race
# 6 Bea Plus (5/2) Odds won't be high on this one but there might be some value because another strong contender # 2 Sprightly (3/1) will be sharing the win pool. Fair odds on the two are 2/1 and 5/2 respectively. Good luck!
