Someone explain...
Yeah that's exactly my point. Once I looked at the odds on the back of the ticket it made me wonder why anyone would waste a dollar on it when they could have smaller odds against them for a larger prize by just picking three digits at random straight on Pick 3.
BTW I'm jealous. TN pays pretty good for Pick 3 according to your post. WI only pays $80 for a 6-way box (with $1 bet) and $160 for a 3-way box (with $1 bet)
Whenever I follow the wiing outlays on the WI Lottery site, to see how

Someone explain...
I think you missed the point of the example. The game with a $100. top prize was twice as hard to win the $100. as the game with $100. as its third prize. 1 in 8,000 is much worse then 1 in 4,000 no math involved and besides that, the player has a abet tiny shot at two larger prizes at no additional cost to play. With the choice being one of the two games it is very clear which is the better bet. The lottery has no obligation to structure every scratch off game the same changing only the pri

Which is a Better Betting Strategy?
I do 10 games of my own choice every drawing, but that said, a winner is a winner, and a loser is a loser, no matter what. I feel I am closer to winning than I am with QP's, but as I said - a loser is a loser no matter how its' picked. And so is a Winner.
The reasons I pick my own are well-documented here: I don't want a QP where all of the numbers are longshot that have not hit in 10+ games, I don't want 5 numbers that have all hit in the last 3 games, I want to be sure I spread my odds.

Which is a Better Betting Strategy?
42 drawings doesn't mean a thing, there are no guarantees, the same bonus ball could come out three games in a row, or not for 230 games. The odds are for the Pball is 1 :42, the odds for 3 of 5 is 1 : 290. The logic you are using dictates you have to wait 290 draws for a three of five? 6 years for a cheeky is long time. 42 x 290 = $12,180, that is assuming one line played with 42 Pballs every game to THEORETICALLY win $150, I like my THEORETICAL $5 to win $15 every draw.
Now if you hit 3

Those "raffle" lottery games
Hey, you never know.... NY lottery
NY raffle the odds of winning $1 million are 1 of 107,000.
The odds are awesome compared with scratch offs and Pb and MM. Well worth the $20 investment. IMO

Paranoid or Prudent?
I hate to sound cynical, but my guess is that any lottery prediction is really just voo-doo science, and if somebody wins using this voo-doo science, it is because of luck. (I would just love to have somebody CONSISTENTLY prove me wrong on this matter!)

Star Spangled lottery not a hit with players
I'd appreciate an explanation, Coin Toss. What makes this better or worse than another lottery game in your opinion? As I wrote above, sometimes the odds look really great to me until I break it down. I mean, getting the chance to win $10,000 (200 winners) with odds of 1 in 7,500 (according to the FL site) sounds pretty good. Then I say to myself but there will be 7,300 people who don't win.
Well, there's an expression we've all heard that people who play the lottery are bad in math, s

Star Spangled lottery not a hit with players
Florida held a raffle on New Year's Day and those tickets sold out in less than 2 weeks. So they decided to have another one they claim for those residents who didn't get a chance to play (sure they did!!) and printed 1.5M for July 4. Over 1.3M have sold, so they should sell out by this weekend, but it's taken 3 times as long, starting on May 18. At first I figured it would take at least 2 or 3 weeks longer, because the snowbirds aren't here in May and June, but I've been told by several pe

Feedup? Contact your state lottery
If you re tired of high odds and low payoffs, let your state lottery know.
The state know if players like a game or not by the number of tickets sold. When Ohioans didn't buy Lot'O Play tickets, the state got rid of the game.
If you are buying lottery tickets and complaining about the odds and the low payouts, the state doesn't a problem, you do. The state only has a problem when it can't sell any tickets.

Pa. Lottery players dig Treasure Hunt game
Hey, I'm from the Poconos. Take my advice, don't live here. It's boring.
Anyway, the reason the game has exceeded expectations is simple, great odds and great returns. It has the best top prize odds of any non-digit game, which people notice right off. And it has the highest prize return (58%), which players don't notice, but they do notice the higher instances of mid-range wins a high return allows. Add that with the $1 price, and it's enough for people to overlook the computerized drawings.
